Also, LaFell is a possession receiver. Putting him as #1 would be a disaster. LaFell was very successful against zone coverage, he was able to find a soft spots. If Smith hits the wall or gets injured, we'll be doomed. Opposite teams would be able to bring their safeties forward and blitz the hell of Newton.

Also, David Gettis excelled in 2010 because he was #2 WR and played possession receiver. None of the 2 had #1 WR experience or faced double teams. Gettis had 37rec in his entire NFL career, you ready to replaced Smitty with unproven guy who is coming back from ACL tear. lol

lol, they have one of the worst Ds in the league... Offense wins game, not defense. Used to be defense but after major rules change, offense is the best defense.

This kind of argument is extraordinarily short-sighted. Does anyone honestly believe the Giants were better on offense last year than the Saints, Packers, and Pats? Seems to me they didn't make their playoff run with 55-48 wins.

Look at the teams in Playoff last year...

32nd D - Green Bay

31st D - New England (Superbowl)

27th D - New York Giants (Superbowl)

24th D - New Orleans Saints

23rd D - Detroit Lions

20th D - Denver Broncos

Sure, you need a great D to be successful. Wake up, its all about offense.

To add, look at the Pats defense...they had a terrible defense, great offense. They still couldn't hold it together in the end... I think defenses are just overlooked because of the ways offenses are "electrifying" and exciting. If you actually look at the teams that win the Superbowl, it is because they excel on both sides of the ball. The Packers defense was underrated when they won... So was the Patriots when they won it those few years with Brady. People who think defenses no longer win games, are just people who aren't watching the full game.

Giants barely made the playoffs. They got super hot in playoffs. They had 8th ranked offense and one of the worst defenses.

Giants were better than 27th in the playoffs....They had a terrible stretch of games in which they lost what, five in a row? Same with the Broncos, their defense was just as clutch as The Golden Calf of Bristol.... Patriots only had to beat the Broncos and then a tough Ravens team known for its DEFENSE. Vince Wilfork was a beast in that game, and on top of that, Lee Evans dropped one of the easiest catches I can think of, and their kicker missed a 32 FGA.... I'm not impressed.

we did have some drives stall within the 20's, and we can't all forget those terrible 3rd quarters where we couldn't sustain any drives; so having as many targets available down there is only gonna help us in the bigger picture. i'd take floyd, hill, or wright. this draft is pretty deep at certain positions and trading back to take advantage of that would also be very wise. hopefully we can sucker someone into it.

We had top 10 offense. Having Saints and Atlanta in our division did not help our chances. We also lost about 7 games by TD or less.

I kind of have to agree with this. We play in the toughest division in the league and we had a new coach and a rookie QB. The defense was completely banged up. Most of the losses either came from Mare shanking a field goal, or Cam turning it over by forcing the ball and then putting our defense in a bad position.
