Wr Stephen Hill Visiting Panthers

Georgia Tech ran the option offense, they didn't throw the ball. Hell they didn't really have a QB, it was a running back that could throw a little. Hill will still be a project because he is raw and lacks regular route running experience. Although some are excited about him because on tape and combine he showed he could run strong routes and had solid hands among other good measureables. Difference between him and Poe is that Poe played DL and was asked to blow up plays, tackle running backs, and sack QB's in college. But the tape shows he didn't give a consistent effort, nor did he dominant in college. He had the chance, but didn't get it done on an elite level. In Hill's case he was never given the chance to showcase his skills on any real level.

Thomas played in that same system had 47 rec. 1,056 yards and 8td.

How Hill is getting every excuse know to man is crazy.

If you have a weapon in Hill like you people think then no matter what offense you run you find a way to get him the ball.

Or Paul Johnson is a complete idiot.

1. We are talking about a wr and a QB right.

2. Demaryius Thomas - Career stats 54 rec. 834 yards 6 td ------ Brandon Lafell - Career stats 74 rec. 1,081 yards 4 td

3. Thomas who came out that same system has yet to make more of a impact then Lafell. Now we are on year 3.

4. If Hill only has 54 rec in 2 year will you be saying we need another wr in 2014?

Was Brandon Laffell hurt for almost half his games and/or then have The Golden Calf of Bristol as his QB???

Did Thomas have the same QB at GT as Hill or did he have the ACC offensive player of the year as his QB??

Also in 2009 no one else on the team had more than 8 receptions. GT actually had more weapons this year which allowed them to spread the ball around more.

Details, details.

And Thomas was drafted at 22nd and I think Hill will go somewhere in same ballpark

To a team that was desperate for wr help. We are not in that situation. This is just my opinion but we need atleast 2 starters out of this draft. I just don't see him being that for 2 years.

Your fooling yourself if you think Blackmon, or Floyd have to make the same transition as Hill. They ran more of a pro style offense. They ran more pro routes they have more of the same terminology.

And the 800 yards are mostly based on him running nothing but deep outs against poor Acc competition. 23 rec. that's it.

Floyd yeah but Blackmon is coming from spread offense. you keep bringing up Bay Bay but Josh Nesbitt was a better QB than Washington(passing wise).again the 2 games you brought up they threw the ball 18 times.out of 1600 yards passing Hill had 800+. and Bay Bay has missed a lot of time because of injuries so that has effected his numbers in the pros.

1. Lafell 1st season played for the worst offense in the league. 2nd year was the 4th or 5th option on the field.

But yeah everybody else has excuse that work for them and Lafell doesn't get the same Benefit.

2. Is Reggie Ball tearing it up in the NFL I forgot?

Everybody gets excuses except the young wr's already on this roster.

well why our even younger DTs not getting that same excuse from you?

I've given McClain the benefit of the doubt I saw flashes out him. You can kill that Fua poo he sucked dude was on roller skates all season. I'm pretty much down on him.

I just seen more flashes out of Lafell and Gettis.

Eric Davis (former Panthers CB) does an afternoon radio show here in the Bay Area and he said good route running is now one of the most overrated skills coming out of college now due to all the rules hindering the defense now. It's not like it used to be with Jerry Rice where the CB could molest the receiver and running clean routes and giving a little push off was how you got separation. Now strong fast receivers can push you out of the way at the LOS and even if their routes aren't great they already have the desperation they need. His words, not mine. Interesting take though.

but why? what flashes has McClain shown that Fua hasnt? I thought they both played bad last year, and didnt Fua graded out better than McClain. Gettis is coming off an acl injury, and Lafell is decent at most. competition needs to be brought in at both positions. i had high hopes for McClain but he just didnt show no type of disruption or change of direction last year.

And I don't agree with the grade that PFF did on that.

McClain had 19 tackles 1 sack in 12 games. He also seem to have better push then Fua and made more plays then Fua.

Fua 9 tackles in 11 games that's it. Should I say more.

We already have a competition at WR. And again Hill will have a lot of learning to do before he could join that competition.

I don't know why LaFell doesn't get more respect on this board. It took him some time to develop but dude catches everything thrown his way, is clutch when needed, and blocks well in the running game. Im glad they signed Legatron last year because he knew the offense, but with him gone and Shockey gone, you will see LaFell's numbers go way up this year. Gettis will probably catch some bombs, but I think BL will have a much bigger impact. He dat deal.
