Scp Mock (Updated)

I'm just going to keep editing this post with updates to my mocks rather than post a new thread for each mock every week or so.

EDIT 1: APRIL 16th

I'm going to include a trade here to show a possible trade down scenario. The Jets have been the most rumored team to trade up into our slot, so I'll go with them. I'll say we give them our 9th overall pick for their 1st, 2nd, & 6th rounders.

1st (f/NYJ): Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame

It's difficult to say who will be the BPA at this point in the 1st round, but odds are we'll be choosing between Michael Floyd, Michael Brockers, Stephon Gilmore, and Dre Kirkpatrick, with Quinton Coples possibly in the mix. Of those players, I like Floyd best, and to those who say we HAVE to go defense, remember that the front office has been showing a ton of interest in the WR class this year. Odds are they're fully intent on drafting a top WR in the first 2 rounds and Floyd after trading down is good value AND gives us the ability to add two defensive players in the 2nd round to make up for taking offense in the 1st.

2nd: Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama

I really do feel like Jenkins will drop this far. His off-field issues have put him into free fall, but it's very hard to pass on his kind of talent in the 2nd round. I trust Rivera to keep him in line and we showed last year that we're willing to take risks on guys with character issues when we took Brandon Hogan. Jenkins is even more talented than Hogan and would be HUGE value in round 2. He's the best cover guy in this draft.

2nd (f/NYJ): Josh Chapman, DT, Alabama

A lot of folks might call Chapman here a reach, but I really like what he brings to the table. He's what we need in the middle of the defense, IMO. I like him better than Brandon Thompson, Kendall Reyes, and many other DT's projected to go around this spot. Whether we take him or not, I have a feeling he's going to go a lot higher than some people think based on pre-draft rankings.

4th: Terrell Manning, OLB, N.C. State

I'll take a break from the Keenan Robinson pick here, but stay at OLB with a local product in Manning. We need someone with good upside who can step in and not be a disaster as a rookie if Thomas Davis gets hurt again.

5th: Russell Wilson, QB, Wisconsin

Some will love this pick, others will hate it. Wilson could be gone well before this depending on how things shake out, but if he's still on the board in the 5th we may just have to take him. He's a guy who can backup Cam and run a similar offense and could potentially give us good trade bait in a few years if he shows well in preseason.

6th: Bruce Irvin, DE/OLB, West Virginia

Rivera has said he wants to address the pass rush, but I've gone in other directions up to this point. In this scenario we'd likely try to find the best pass rusher who has the most potential upside to develop into an impact player. Irvin can play DE or OLB depending on the alignment, which fits our defense well.

6th (f/NYJ): Brian Stahovich, P, San Diego State

I'd rather wait until our next pick, but odds are if we want one of the top 2 punters we'll need to take him with one of our first two picks in the 6th round. This could also be Drew Butler or Bryan Anger, but Stahovich is a lesser known name who most sites have ranked right there with them.

6th (Comp.): Gino Gradkowski, OG, Delaware

I'm still concerned with the interior OL, and while this pick likely won't solve anything in the immediate, it doesn't hurt to add talented depth that could eventually develop into a starter if all goes well.

7th: Cameron Collins, LB, Oregon State

We took Terrell Manning earlier to give us some depth on the outside, but we could still use depth inside behind Beason.

I watched the Tulsa vs UCF game, so I have seen him play once in person and 2 times on TV. I live in Tulsa. He is extremely athletic, but did not seem very instinctual. Lacks ball skills. He gets fooled on the double move.. seems like a great nickelback prospect. I personally like Hosley better because of his ball skills.. even though he is not as athletic. Josh is probably the most atheltic CB in the draft, so the potential is there.. but needs great coaching to tap into it.
