Anyone Rented A Tux Lately?

If it isn't a Tux where he has to rent a specific style or model but you want a black standard one for example, you can actually buy one cheaper than you can rent one. Hard to believe but it is true. The rental places actually sell used ones but my son who is 13 had 3 formal dances to go to as part of the cotillion group he belongs to. I bought him one on Ebay for 40 bucks. Brand new and it had all the components. It looked as good as the one he wore at his older brother's wedding last year which we had to rent for 120 bucks because it had to match all the others.

Prom kinda snuck up on us. I don't know why I thought we had more time; I had the date wrong.

Anyway, if I had the time, I'd definitely buy instead of renting. Or even buy him a nice suit. I was not expecting to pay $200 for rental. I was expecting more around $120.

I wore a tux to prom, but that was eight years ago, no idea what it cost. I rented one last year for a wedding, but I don't remember what that cost either. :/ It was from Jos. A. Bank though so I'm sure I got ripped off.

And don't feel bad Dpantherman, my buddy asked a girl to prom the day of, and he wore a ill fitting suit with a batman tie. His pants split half way through the night. Great night.

My date for my jr prom didn't even wear a suit. He wore a pair of checkered vans, a pair of OP pants that were half pink and half grey, a white dress shirt and black tie and white coat. I have a pic but I don't think I've ever scanned it.

    • It's not good to leave any netminder having a bad night out there, not fair to them, not fair to the skaters still trying to win the game It's classless and shows a lack of respect, for them has a player and a human being, you aren't gaining anything, you aren't learning anything , except they just don't have it that night. I don't care if it's a multiple Vezina Winner, or a 3rd string back up, don't leave them out there to shame themselves and the rest of the team  What if Lavi left Cam in when he didn't have it, and Rod had to skate knowing he essentially has an open net at his end of the ice, would he enjoy that ?
    • If they draft Stewart at 8th, I will ask @Mr. Scot for a list of GMs and might as well ask for HC too.....
    • I can't for the life of me figure out what people are seeing in Stewart on tape. If he can't just simply run around or through the OL in front of him, he's cooked. I don't see any actual moves. If he doesn't win on sheet athleticism at the point of contact he's nullified. I don't know if I've ever seen him actually beat a block once engaged. Then, even if he just blasts right past or through the OL and has a clean path to the ball it's like he's blind. He can't find the ball. He's like a bottle rocket. Yeah, he takes off fast but he's just going to go fast in a general direction. There will be no course correction. I watched quite a bit on him just because of his perceived draft evaluation and because of the wild discrepancy between measurables and production. Watch him play and it all makes since. He's a god tier physical specimen who just happens to be playing football. I don't see a football player. People need to stop falling in love with the potential and start realizing why the potential isn't translating.
