More Pressure From Carolina D

Again, I don't know where you are seeing depth and talent at the DE position, Hardy is a good rotational player, the end. We get pushed around on the line, Beason and Anderson can get enough tackles between them. Look at most 4-3 teams, they don't have all absolute stud LB's because they don't need too. They work on the Dline because they are the one's getting a lot of the pressure and stopping most of the run. AKA the bears, the Giants (who don't even have one stud LB), the list goes on. We need to stop being pushed around on the front four. It was pathetic last season. We can go out and pick up a veteran LB in the FA market, and that would be just as nice. A defensive line will help get the pressure, that we barely put on (Hardy only put up 4 sacks and 7 total in two years), and help stop the run, which we also suck at. It's a win win.

I stopped reading after Hardy is only a rotational player.. I don't trust your ability to understand football enough for me to continue..

I dont understand why some of you refuse to see Hogan as a viable #2 guy- what would a draft pick this year have over Hogan? At least Hogan has some NFL experience. I think we go dline or lb in the first round.

even if we managed to draft Claiborne, I'm not so sure Hogan isn't starting at #2 in the beginning.. I'm down for adding more talented corners, but dude looks like he can ball from what little I've seen.

I hope he is the answer but I have seen very little of the guy play.Where did you see he is viable? Are you basing it on college film? just curious

Yeah but then lets say Davis plays all 16, and performs at a very high level just like pre-knee injury. Kuechly just plays back up for the next couple years and special teams?

We need our first pick to come in and contribute immediately. Not compete for a job or hope for the starter to get injured.

Kuechly even as a rotational guy will contribute as much s a rookie DT or DE. To assume a rookie will start is a big assumption. And to assume that Davis will be fine is a huge leap.

this isn't a problem you need to spend the 9th overall pick to fix

If we draft the next Dan Morgan for the next 10 years, then absolutely the 9th pick would be a steal. Maybe we won't be as lucky as he will only be the next Patrick Willis.

I think its more about adding quality to the unit. Still some people are ready to replace Beason after one injury and Hogan came in with an injury so its not surprising.

looked solid when he played at the end of the year...

The reality is that most of the time guys coming off ACL injuries can come back in 1 season but continue to improve from season 1 to season 2. So you would expect that Hogan would be better this year compared to last.

I think its more about adding quality to the unit. Most realistic posters are concerned that Beason won't be 100% until next year after suffering a very serious potentially career ending injury while Hogan is coming back from an injury which actually is less serious and the research on coming back to 100% is much better.

Fixed it for you.......

disagree if this team gets a pass rusher he will contribute a lot more than a LB.
