who here really believes that if Hurney goes to Dwill next offseason and says "we have to let Stew go because we blew our RB budget on you" Dwill would be like, "ok peace out Jstew!". Dwill would restructure in an instant, that may have even been the plan all along for all we know

Yeah, bc DWill will gladly give up money that could be used to provide his children and family stability for years and years........so Stewart can stay here. DWill has leverage. He has no reason to restructure unless there is a clear benefit to him.

He can be friends with Stewart regardless of where they play.....and Double Trouble is a sideshow act now anyway.....no longer the bread and butter.

Do you want to make less money so your company can keep one of your co-workers. When you can do there job regardless if they are there or not?

It is business.

yeah just like he was going to take a huge home town discount to begin with because he liked it here so much

dwill has a ton of guaranteed money left to hit the cap, the panthers are in absolutely no position to force him to take a pay cut. any agent that would agree to that wouldn't be an agent in the NFL for very long. they may be buddies but business is business.

Marty was asked about Stewart's position with the team. will he be there in 2012...

"Yes!"

He s a very valuable part of the team, and we are going to see what we can do about getting an extension because he is a valuable player for the team.

Putting Cambel outside to start.

Just because we want him back that doesnt mean he is gonna sign.

Getting rid of Stewart to fix other positions creates a problem at the RB position.

Contrary to dumb belief, Deangelo =/= Stewart.

Exactly HOW much of a problem??? D Will is still a great running back with some mileage left, its amazing how some yall talk down on him so bad just to pump Stewart. SMDH.

1. Stewart and D-Will split time. There's nobody just sitting on the bench.

2. Tolbert is a FULLBACK

3. No offence but who in here has ever been an NFL GM? i'll wait...

4. D-will isnt the arrogant greedy type so I believe he'd take a pay cut if needed(which wouldn't be huge) to keep Stew around

5. Stew and D-will = longer careers for both

6. Let Hurney worry about it

7. Leave it alone

8. Please

1. Yes, there is someone sitting on the bench. 99% of the time on offense we have an elite RB sitting on the bench.

Name an elite player that sat out the number of reps Williams did this past year that was healthy?

3. DWill isnt going to take a pointless paycut. He has no reason to. None is these players are cutting deals to give the team a break.....cuz they love playing here so much. There has to be a benefit for Williams.....the contract he just got is what these players work do hard to get. Especially a RB.

So you'd rather have a mediocre guy take snaps after Stew or D-will just broke a 60 yard run or would you like another elite Rb to come in for a while?

At the end of the year they got a good bit of time on the field together. Having a great pair of backs only helps. Its hard to stop Cam+ D-Lo+ Stew...adding Tolbert will give us fresh legs all game long. They're going to be hard to handle for 60 min.
