drafting at #9 I wouldn't expect to pick up someone at the level of megatron, fitz, or (assuming he keeps getting better) AJ Green.

but at #9 I would be happy with a receiver of Blackmon's caliber... looks like he will be a great receiver. no not the best, but good enough to be a #1 on most teams.

I agree I think Balckmon will be good on the Rams, Jags , or Browns. I just have more faith then some on here in Lafell and Gettis. I think they all have certain "SKILL SeT" (that's for you Chuck) but I like Lafell and Gettis skill sets better.

Why would I be mad because some talking head agrees with you, KK? If you had been listening, we all basically agree. It's just that you cherry pick small irrelevant points upon which to argue with people---either failing to get the big picture, or, at the very least, feign ignorance in regards to what they are ultimately addressing---then you call them dumb for disagreeing with your vast football knowledge. You top it all off by accusing them of being "mad" when they point out your hypocrisy, or, at the very least, immature behavior That's your modus operandi.

I like both of those guys but I would love to have Blackmon... however I do not think he will be there and I do NOT think he is worth trading up for given our other needs... if we did trade up I'd rather we end up with Claiborne...

Speak for yourself. I don't agree with him because I don't know. I can admit that I have been wrong about a lot on draft picks. I have been right too. However you know what? People can come on the forums and yap about they are right and this talking head person agrees with them but doesn't matter. Because they:

a) dont get paid for it.

B) don't get fired if they are wrong and

c) don't get called out for it because no one remembers but them.

This board would be a great better overall place if everyone prefaced stuff as an opinion. But noooooo. This board is filled with Skip Baylesses. Every day different version of the same thing. We have people who can't balance their own checkbook acting like they are salary cap experts. People who can't talk to a girl without handing them their wallet calling peope ugly. People who's haven't even played nerf football evaluating NFL talent. How many times must this be said. The draft is a crap game. Jerry Rice was 6' 2" 200 lb. Hell the top 3 Rec in NFL history were about 6' 2" and didn't run blazing 40 times. They just had more heart. Same thing can be applied to every other position. Every other sport. Greatness cannot be measured at the combine. Or with a tape measure. It's on the field.

I'm not in love with Blackmon because "JMO" he is not a can't miss talent and there will be alot more WR with his skill sets in later years where we can make a luxury pick wr happen. If we didn't suck so badddddd on defense last year I would have no problems picking him at 9. But that's not the situation. I do agree only person I'd trade up for is Claiborne.

My general feeling is that depending on how the draft goes the FO may feel there is nobody that could really step in and immediately help the D at #9 (especially if they feel one of the DTs there are worth it, and the next CBs are too far down the board, and they aren't interested in taking a LB), but if Blackmon falls to us there, he likely would make an impact, and very possibly set us up for the next decade. He may not be a sure fire pick or whatever but he is as much of one as anyone (aside from Decastro maybe) would be at that position.

I do not think that will happen, though... both because I think Blackmon will be gone and because I think there will be a quality player for our D that we can pick up there.
