Bigger Need....olb Or Cb?

I blame Capt more then the safties.

Captain got picked on and taken advantage of.....yes. He generally is where he is suppose to be unlike the Ss. Pass rush will help an aggressive kid like Captain even if back in his true role in the slot.

Most of those huge passing TDs we were torched with all year were on our Ss IMO.

Capt was beatin off the line more then anybody I've ever seen. He wasn't in the right position for the 3rd and 16 he gave up to the Falcons and other plays just like that.

Now Godfrey and Martin made there share of F'ups but they also had to worry about the run because our DT sucked and Passes over the Middle because Our LB couldn't cover a fly. I will give them more of a pass then Capt who was Over matched by every wr he covered.

Munnerlyn shouldn't even be on the team. He was one of the worst (if not statistically the very worst) starting CBs in the league, and if the Panthers don't either draft a #2 (or some unforeseen happening like Butler stepping up huge), then no amount of OLB play is going to keep the team out of the cellar.

Yes, I agree Captain was overmatched and didn't play great.

I just think the blown assignments and 30+ yard TDs were more on the Ss. I also don't think they get a pass on all those bc they were asked to aid the run D. Ss blew a lot of plays leading to HUGE TDs on clear pass plays.

Captain is a decent nickel cb.

Too much focus on 1 yr IMO. He has been decent every other year.

No way Capt was in the right position and still gAve up a 73.6 comp. rate against him.

Do you know how bad you have to be for QB to have a 73.6 comp. rate when throwing at you?

You can not many blow many assignments and get beat like a drum. Ss provided no aid against the deep pass an that let to HUGE TDs over and over again.

My only point is it wasn't just a Captain issue..... It was a back 7 issue excluding Gamble. Watch the highlights on NFL.com. S play was every bit as pathetic as Captain

I disagree if Capt played better man to man he wouldn't have given up so many 3rd down plays. Like I said if the front 7 had played better then I would dogged the Safties more. But it is hard to guard against Play action when getting Gashed by the run.

DL in the first and LB in the second. No cbs good enough that we don't already have unless JJ falls.

Trade up next year for David Amerson NSU, a carolina kid.I wouldn't mind investing our future for a kid like Amerson. Its nit like we never done it before anyway. He has all the physical attributes you look for in a cb and potentials. Next year this time around, you'll be hearing a lot of Amerson's name. He's def better than Claiborne, Kirk and Gillmore. Been compared to Nnamdi already and he's a rising sophomore only I think.

CB is a bigger need than LB.

Of course, ya can't get caught drafting for need. That's where mistakes are made.

Go BPA.

With as deep as the CB class is, it's a better chance that BPA in the 2nd for the Panthers will end up being a CB over a LB. Or even a DT over a LB.

OLB=Anderson.... He will play on nickel situations if Thomas can't go, and if thomas can't go we got a quick LB who once played safety at LB... Thats just straight money right there....

On the other hand, CB we have Gamble on one side that people rather not throw at, and Munnerlyn who just doesn't cut it.

The real question should be DE, DT, or CB bigger need.
