Nfl.com Analysts Mock Drafts...

Since April 2nd, four analysts have done updated mock drafts and two of them having us take Dontari Poe, one has us taking Fletcher Cox, and one has us taking Coples. From everything I've been coming across, Poe is thought to be sliding but still, thought it was interesting.

The most recent mock is from Albert Breer and he has us taking Coples. I just think if Claiborne is off the board (and I do think he'll be off the board and will be going to Tampa) we will either take Kuechly or trade down. Just my opinion though...

My bad for posting it in the Panthers forum, wasn't sure where the mocks went...

And @Kurb, I think Kuechly is gonna be a big time player and would be excited about the pick, but it's a tough position to be in. If Beason can ever come back 100% and TD can stay healthy, LB isn't a need. But, those are big ifs.

I know we're all being armchair experts here, but in my non-front office executive opinion, I just don't see how the pick could be anything but a DT or CB at 9. If there isn't a player at either of those positions available worthy of picking at 9, I think we should trade back.

UNLESS, of course, Hurney feels whatever player he really likes at 9 is a momentum changer i.e., Coples being Peppers-like.

Cox, Poe, and Brokers may be awesome in 3 years but none of them give us a competitive advantage over what we have on the team. Kuelchy could play out of position but not sure that fixes anything. BPA is a good rule of thumb but I think some pragmatism should be exercised. This team needs a corner or a passrusher (DE or OLB). Take whichever one is graded higher and call it a day.

Cox and Brockers day 1 help your run defense and inside pass rush more then Fua, and Mcclain.
