Panthro's Officially Official Mock Draft V1.bestever

For the last two years I have nailed the Panthers 1st pick. Yes picking Cam Newton last year wasn't overly impressive but I had him early and stuck by him through all the weird BS and Narwocki's 1960's evaluation of him. The year before when everyone was mocking Golden Tate, Terrence Cody, or Carlos Dunlap I picked Jimmy Clausen...sorry....I even won some sort of prize from the Zod sponsored competition (that of which I have never I received but with the zombie photo shoot we will say evensies). So why belabor past accomplishments? Well for one thing It's what I do and secondly I'm always fricking right.

So without any of these stupid trades that nets the Panthers hundreds of extra draft picks....I give you this.

Inb4omgClaibornewouldmakemetightinthecargoshorts

1. Indianapolis Colts - Andrew Luck QB Stanford

2. Washington Redskins (From St. Louis) - Robert Griffin III QB Baylor

3. Minnesota Vikings - Matt Kalil OT USC

4. Cleveland Browns - Trent Richardson RB Alabama

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Morris Claiborne CB LSU

6. St. Louis Rams - Justin Blackmon WR Oklahoma St.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars - Malcom Floyd WR Notre Dame

8. Miami Dolphins - Ryan Tannehill QB Texas A&M

9. Carolina Panthers -

As much as it pains this Wolfpacker..

17YOBk.St.138.jpg

Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina

Height: 6-6. Weight: 284.

40 Time: 4.72. 10-Yd Split: 1.63.

Bench: 25.

Vertical: 31.5. Broad: 9-1.

Arm: 33 1/4. Hand: 10 1/8.

Solidifying the edge and bringing in another DE that can move inside on 3rd downs would instantly make this defense better. Coples may have slacked off or whatever his senior year but there was a lot of crap going on that would've hampered any of the top prospects. I am already feeling unmotivated to finish this mock draft and I just started....so imagine his struggle. Oh and his brand is good for 2 sacks on it's own.

2nd Round

40. Carolina Panthers -

I flipped a coin heads Jayron Hosley and tails Josh Robinson....it landed on its side so I was forced to play tic-tac-toe against Wopper.

Still tied I picked the bigger school prospect.

Jayron Hosley*, CB/PR, Virginia Tech

Height: 5-10. Weight: 178.

40 Time: 4.38.

Bench: 11.

Arm: 30 7/8.

I am going hawking on my honeymoon in Ireland and I am half expecting Jayron to be perched upon my leather sleeve when presented with my bird. The guy is simply a ballhawk with insane speed. Outside of Gamble we have lot of potential but unknowns. Adding Hosley to the mix of Hogan and Butler would achieve my #1 goal of the offseason and that's preventing Captain from seeing the field unless he's a #5CB.

Round 4

104. Carolina Panthers -

Nigel-Bradham.jpg

Nigel Bradham, OLB, Florida State

Height: 6-2. Weight: 241.

40 Time: 4.53. 10-Yd Split: 1.65.

Bench: 24.

Vertical: 37. Broad: 10-1.

Arm: 33 3/4. Hand: 10 3/8.

Everyone has been mocking a LB so I did not want to be left out...Here's the OLB insurance policy everyone's been griping over.

"Bradham played well in 2011, becoming the first Seminole since Marvin Jones to lead the team in tackles for three straight seasons. Bradham had 86 tackles with 9.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks, three passes broken up, two interceptions and a forced fumble this year. ."

"Prototypical size. Usually shows good awareness and vision on the field; does a nice job keeping his eyes in the backfield and/or on the ball carrier. Does a nice job fighting through traffic at the line of scrimmage; excels at making himself small to slip through holes in offensive line. Patient and seems to have good instincts; rarely over-pursues; takes good angles. Does a nice job staying low to take on blocks. Coaches speak highly of his work ethic."

Round 5

143. Carolina Panthers -

60345661.jpg

Akiem Hicks, DT/NT, Regina University (Canada)

Height: 6-5. Weight: 318.

40 Time: 5.21.

Bench: 26.

Vertical: 31.5. Broad: 9-0.

Arm: 35 1/8. Hand: 10 1/8.

I love me big fat guys that can we can rotate in and especially ones that have been fed moose and poutine.

"Hicks is a mammoth player with light feet and impressive length, but is very raw with limited playing experience ? a mid-to-late round draft pick who needs extensive work, but the potential is tough to ignore as he grades as one of the better developmental linemen in this class. "

So he's Brockers-lite

Round 6

180. Carolina Panthers -

ryan-miller.jpg

Ryan Miller, G, Colorado

Height: 6-7. Weight: 321.

40 Time: 5.27.

Bench: 32.

Arm: 33 1/8.

He big.

207. Carolina Panthers (Comp.) - This is the famous punter pick. Well You don't draft punters! Pick one up as an UDFA.

610x.jpg

Carmen Messina, ILB, New Mexico

Height: 6-2. Weight: 236.

Projected 40 Time: 4.72.

His name is Carmen...which probably means he's tough.

New Mexico won a total of three games over the past three seasons, but perhaps the program's biggest bright spot during those difficult times was Messina. The Mountain West's all-time leader in tackles had 12 more stops in his college career than fellow Lobo Brian Urlacher, and topped 100 in his last three seasons. Messina isn't the freakish athlete that Urlacher was - he wasn't a safety in Albuquerque, after all - but he's constantly in the weight room and has an excellent work ethic and dedication to make up for any athletic shortcomings. Messina is a pure run stopper who takes good paths to the football and knows how to shed blocks. While he didn't participate in the NFL combine, he clocked a solid 4.76 40-yard dash time at New Mexico and a 33.5-inch vertical jump, but Messina is definitely not at his best in pursuit. He's a cerebral player who knows how to strip the ball and demonstrates excellent tackling technique. Messina isn't about to blow anyone away as an inside linebacker, and he's probably not going to be a force blitzing up the middle. But he has great football instincts and a track record of outstanding production, characteristics that should make him a middle-round pick.

Round 7

216. Carolina Panthers - I take (double ugh)

5317906323_0f1ef92a50.jpg

Donte Paige-Moss*, DE, North Carolina

Height: 6-3. Weight: 268.

Projected 40 Time: 4.71.

Bench: 26.

Arm: 33. Hand: 10 1/8.

What a loser....what wasted potential. What a 7th round pick. This is for all my Hilee fanboys. Late round prospect to

Can this change? Maybe...but I'll have to give the Panthers permission to make any adjustments.

what the hell is that thing on Coples shoulder? I need to get out more I know but I can't figure that out. Either way this is a nice mock.

Fraternity brand.

I like it. It bolsters the defense and offensive line; exactly what we need.
