Pardon me if this has been stated somewhere.

It seems to me that the FO would have still drafted Everett Brown in the 1st based on their projections of him. So basically instead of having to trade up into the 1st giving away next years and more picks in this draft..we only had to give up a 1st in next years and we even got a extra 4th out of it...sounds like a good deal if you ask me.

It also saves us on the Peppers situation..had we traded him for a first this year and still most likely gotten E. Brown..we wouldn't now have the option to trade Peppers for a teams next years picks. Teams usually are more likely willing to give up an unknown draft pick that they have no idea who will be there for a proven defensive end that they can get immediately..
