Steam Sucks

we definitely don't need any 15 year olds on steam so hopefully he goes back to the 360 after this

Try again...I've got two kids older than that. I've been playing games since the commodore 64.

Judging from this forum, I'm bettting that:

A. You get your ass kicked a lot IRL.

or

B. You rarely leave your basement and your mom runs interference for any mentally unstable "consolefags" that may want to feed you your intestines.

So.. Lemme get this straight.. You thought a High Definition Pack (that is free) was going to just appear out of thin air? You realize it's a high definition pack right? It's not going to be like 25kb. And I don't understand how this is any different from when console games update either. Battlefield 3 Karkand was like 2gb on 360. In fact a lot of the dlcs are pretty massive and you would have to wait the time in order to play regardless of platform. I really don't see the dilemma here.

One of the main reasons I like steam is that it's convenient. I can have all my games in one spot, I can play with friends with occasional relative ease. It's not as invasive as other DRM systems for the PC. And it's not Origin.

The real complaint I had was not that there were mods available...just that it didn't list the size of the file download. I haven't really played games on the computer (except for maybe Civilization series) in 10+ years until now. I just thought there should be a warning how big the file is, or at the very least an option to cancel the download.

Steam is probably a great service for people with high bandwidth connections...but for peeps like me that have no high speed options (and a 3G cellphone and/or satellite connection isn't a high speed option IMO) it stinks.
