Tony Fiametta FB Syrcause

Thought it was a good pick upon looking at his combine numbers, but I'm having second thoughts. Says "he has proven incapable of carrying the ball" and that he's slow getting into his routes. The guy has 4.6 speed and strength, but he's pretty much just a blocker. His scouting report says he is too stiff and slow on the field to play h-back or tight end because he takes too long to get into his route.

This draft grows more disappointing.

The ESPN crew loves the pick (or loved the pick. Who knows when the server will stop imploding and I can actually post this). They say he is a perfect fit for our system. And he was Kiper's BPA and ESPN's top-rated fullback.

I personally don't know enough about him to have an opinion. I'm just stating the facts.

I do know, however, that he wouldn't have fallen to us in the 5th, and we need to start grooming a good FB.

i like the pick (it may be my favorite pick of the draft)

"Fiammetta was the best fullback in the draft. He is an excellent blocker yet he has rushing skills, as he was a running back coming out of high school. He also has excellent receiving skills. His blocking is not to be dismissed, though, and he really beefs up an already-powerful Panthers rushing attack."

    • Corner Nate Hobbs to the #Packers on a four-year, $48M deal, @agentlinton confirmed. Was always a popular name teams wanted to trade for in recent years. Market reflected that.
