Michael Brockers!

6'4 305 is a pretty big frame and can add 15 more pounds without losing speed. Again Suh is 6'4 310 and he does just fine at DT you think.

Every guy who is 6'4" and 310 lbs is not Suh. Edwards is 6'3" and 315 lbs. Does that make him Suh? Not hardly.

The case for Cox is not that he is going to be Suh but that he has a first quick step and will translate well into a 1 gap attacking style which is what we run. No need to try and make him something he isn't. What he does is fine in and of itself.

I think Cox is a good player who is more developed technique wise compared to Brockers and gives you good ability right away. He was only a junior so he has growing to do as well but doesn't have as big a frame as Brockers. He translates to a DE in the NFL more so than a DT and has a good motor right off the bat. Give him an off-season to develop more muscle and he could play 3 technique as well. I don't think you would go wrong picking him either.

You said this I only pointed out a player who was the same size able to Play DT well. If I would had said

4

Kyle Williams 6'1 303

Kevin Williams 6'5 315

Jay Ratliff 6'4 285

Point doesn't change all are good DT and smaller or same size as Cox.

What is your point?? That Cox can play DT?? We are going to pick a guy who can rush the passer and likely play both the 3 technique and 5 technique as well. If you are saying he can do both, then that is what I am saying. If you are saying he is primarily a 3 technique and can't move outside, then that limits the likelihood we would pick him. Particularly if other guys can do both. I would think if you are advocating we draft him you would be emphasizing his versatility. But from what I have read we want a guy who can rush off the edge, we have enough 3 technique guys who can do little else.

You're arguing with yourself. YOU said Cox translate to DE in more then DT. YOU said that. I was just pointing out that there are alot of DT his size or smaller. I think he could play both DT or De very well but DT is his best position.

And you know that because you an NFL scout who is an expert on how players will translate to the NFL or a smuck like the rest of us with an opinion but no expertise.

And you are doing the same thing I'm doing. So don't do that Bull poo "you're not a expert thing". We are both trying to figure out how he will translate. I'm just using more Facts to back up my opinion better then you. Get over it and bow down to player much greater then you. (JUST KiDDING)!!!

We are both not scouts but the facts are there are alot of good DT Cox size or smaller doing work in this league. The bonus is he can play DE as well.

Fletcher Cox looks like he plays more physical and with less talent around him he had better numbers. Brockers just looks like he's timid going up against the OL like he doesn't understand how to throw someone to the side the way a more mature DT would. He might have the most upside but if Fletcher Cox could be had in the teens and we trade down I'd rather have him than Brockers. If we go DL I'd probably say that I'd rather have Coples or Cox over the others.

I'm also still really intrigued by Poe as well. If he is there at the beginning of the 2nd then we need to grab him. I don't see him making it out of the 1st with his size though.

We just signed Edwards and drafted two DT's. The DT position usually takes a year or two to grow into, unless you're Suh

1. They have invited all the top DT in for a visit.

2. Ron Edwards is 32 and is at best a 2 down run stuffer.

3. They drafted a QB in the 2nd round and the next year drafted a QB in the 1st. 2 3rd round DT won't stop them from going DT in the 1st this year.

4. You don't have to be Suh to be a successful DT in this league. Some of these guys coming out this year have better # then Dareus and Farily did coming out last year.

5. Giants have shown a Good Dline with alot of options can carry you to the Superbowl.

6. In this new passing League the best defense is a pass rush.

Nice statement, but I don't think that we're going DT.
