Great size to me for a DT is 320-340

I just dont view Cox as being a great run stuffer or someone that can really anchor the interior of the line.

I see him more as 3-4 DE

Then you would be wrong on all accounts.

If you just go by Combine weight (which Cox has already added 8-10 pounds since then) Cox is only 7 pounds less then Suh but the same Height.

Out of the top 10 DT last year he's bigger then 3 of them.

Ideally we trade back out of our 9 slot and stack some picks for the later rounds (or next year) while still get B.D.P.A (DL/LB). I truly trust Rivera with this pick as long as it is defensive. Rivera knows talent on the defensive side of the ball. I do however think that everyone on the boards are giving up on McClain/Fua a little early. DT is one of the hardest positions in the NFL to get good at. Learning the opposing OL moves, putting size on that's needed at the NFL level and getting your body up to speed/quickness from the college level to the Pros.

How is that different from the people who want WR or DE that like given up on Lafell, Gettis, and Hardy?

If we draft a WR I dont see that giving up on Lafell/Gettis. Gettis is coming of an injury and he isn't proven yet. I think Gettis will be good but oyu can't say for sure just because he had so flashes of being good. Lafell i got a lot of love for (unlike most on thsi board) but the fact of the matter is he is not a solid #2 WR yet. Can he be? I think so but it would not hurt to take at the depp class of WR soming out this year. If you don't think we need WR depth then sir i think you're nuts!

As for Hardy drafting another DE wouldn't mean we are "giving up" on him it just means our DE rotation just got that much awesome, i could use that argument for the WR case as well. Look at the Giants they have been drafting DE/DL in the top 2 rounds for the psat prob 4 years and it is starting to pay off huge for them.

I just don't want us to draft a WR in the first 2 rounds after that fair game.

I think your making excuse because you want either a wr or DE. Why is getting a DT mean that we're giving up on Fua and McClaine but getting Blackmon, Floyd or Coples doesn't mean the same thing. Atleast Gettis, Lafell and Hardy have shown somthing.

IMO you can't have enough talent at the DE or WR positions (look at Packers n Giants). Our DT position def needs to be addressed I agree, i just don't believe that one of the DT's in the draft are an immediate upgrade (They aren't Sue) that maybe a DE or CB can be for us. I just don't want us to waste a great pick on another project DT (Which they will be) when we did that last year in McClaine/Fua.

P.S. i think any Notre Dame player is a bust in the NFL. So i would say a big HELL NAH! to Floyd or any WR in the first 2rounds maybe even 3. Like i said 3rd round and later on a WR i wouldn't mind that at all. A mid to late rounder would give us insurance not this season but maybe next season if Gettis doesn't pan out to what people think he is going to be. Lafell will keep growing as a WR and be a big threat for us next year, so I'm not worried about him he's a beast with very good hands in traffic.
