Beason Lookin Strong

Yea except it does show something and no one has said he was 100%. But keep making stuff up and acting like everyone else does not know what they are saying. Everyone knows you can't fix stupid.

Go back and read this entire thread. If I wasn't on my phone I would hand pick the posts for you. Several people went full retard after watching the vid.

Davis looks pretty good in drill last year as well and we saw how that turned out.

In fairness, Davis' injury had nothing to do with his previous rehab. He would have torn his acl, more than likely, with the hit he took to his knee even if it had never been torn before

Actually it doesn't show those things. It shows he is regaining his mobility and is in great shape. There was not much lateral motion besides about 2 or 3 yards one way or the other and there were no full out sprints. even the lateral work was short chop steps and not the full out lateral stretching you would be making if you have to pursue someone laterally. You are obviously optimistic about what you saw and that is fine. Fan stands for fanatic and no one says you have to be realistic or pessimistic. But to assume that video shows he is ready to play this year is beyond optimistic. Again I hope he does come back 100% given the contract he was given last year. We already wasted millions on last year and I would hate that we could do the same this year. But concluding much from that video just reduces any poster's credibility, IMO. Davis looks pretty good in drill last year as well and we saw how that turned out.

FYI, an achilles injury has much more impact on forward/rear movments, not lateral. Beason looks fast, strong, and near impossible to tell he was even hurt.

Nobody is saying he could play today. But the thing is, HE DOESN"T NEED TO! He still has 5 more months to continue rehab/strength building/quickness.

Without a doubt he will be ready to play week 1.

Exactly and the first time Beason gets hit across the back of his ankle on his achilles he might suffer a setback. The reality is that a surgically repaired Achilles will never be as good as the original. I surely hope he is back to being as strong as possible but to assume that even if he were fine in drills that it will translate to being fine on the field is optimistic at best.

Just to be clear.

HE HAS 5 MORE MONTHS!

And yes, maybe my tune would change in August if he suffers a setback, but he is doing all the things expected to be difficult for him, now. The only thing not seen from that video is contact. I am sure his tendon will be strong enough by August to take a hit or two, otherwise the medical staff would not put him out there.

For the 4-5 of you who are adamant that Beason will not be effective this year, are you basing this all on the 1 MLB (Ryans) that tore his achilles and said he wasn't 100% after a year of recovery? Or do you have any medical expertise in this field?

Beason had the surgery and has more knowledge of the recovery than ANY of us, unless one of you is Dr. Andrews. I think we should trust him. If he says he will be ready,he will be ready.

The comparisons to Ryans in this thread are off. Nevermind the fact Beason was always better and more athletic than Ryans, Beason got hurt in Week 1. Ryans got hurt midseason. Compound the fact that Ryans also had to transition to an entirely new defense with the hire of Wade Phillips, it's no surprise he didn't feel like himself until near the end of the season. While it is likely Beason will need to get comfortable early on, I don't see any reason to doubt that by Week 6 or so, he should be back at 100% or close.
