Scientists from the German Institute of Human Nutrition say they have found proof that the beer belly is a myth.

By studying the hip and waist measurements of nearly 20,000 people over nine years and charting how much beer they drank each day, they found that beer drinking caused overall weight gain rather than causing excess fat in just the stomach area.

BBC Radio 5 live Drive spoke to Steve Miller, the host of TV show Fat Families, who has written about losing weight.

---------------------------------

Your Belly is a result of Chicken , Cow and Pork Fat building up and collecting in your fatty reserve areas (Belly, Back of Legs, Back of Arms, Buttocks)

All it is is white fat that hasnt been digested by the body because the body is not made to digest large amounts of meat.

Research what you eat my friends!

If your do not take care of your body....where will you live?

When a man's caloric intake exceeds his caloric expenditure, the extra calories will be stored as fat. Since a man's fat deposits develop in the midsection first, it results in the large stomach discussed. The "beer belly" received that moniker because beer contains a lot of empty calories and a man who consumes a lot of beer without burning off those calories runs the risk of obtaining the beer belly. I thought this was common knowledge.

Or, to be more specific:

3500 Calories is roughly equal to 1lb. of fat

1 beer is approx 150 Calories (a can of soda is not far behind)

Thus, 1 beer/night = 15lbs/year

But, as Bronco mentioned, as long as your burn is >= your intake you can eat/drink whatever you want. Simple math.
