Coming Down To Coples Or Kuechly

Coples is clearly better than Hardy??? Coples hasnt touched an NFL field yet. Hardy was every bit as good as Johnson at the same point in time. Its been repeated to death, our DEs got consistent pressure on QBs. The problem was that the QB could step into the pocket to avoid them. That comes from a CLEAR lack of interior push...

It appears its gonna be between these two for our 9th pick imo.

My only concern is if we take Kuechly, where is our pass rush gonna come from in this draft?

Im pretty sure its a lock we take a CB in the second (Hosley).

I dont see any good pass rushers available past the first round.

Im more leaning to Coples because I feel he can be a beast of a DE and provide a solid pass rush pared with Johnson.

It's coming down to those two? Based on what? Most reports I've seen have also included Cox and Floyd. You know, reports from people that actually know what's going on, not some Jersey Shore dude.

When Kuechly is drafted you will eat crow.

wat?

I actually think it will be Kuechly, and nothing in my post says otherwise. I said that people who know what is going on have INCLUDED Cox and Floyd. (Obviously meaning along with Coples and Kuechly that you mentioned). I was saying that it isn't just either of those.

Reading comprehension ftw.

Obviously ppl list the other guys as "possibilities" but there is no way in hell we are drafting offense with our 9th pick.

Cox, Poe, and Brockers are outside possibilities.

I dont see a huge gap between them and what we could get in the 2nd if we go DT (Worthy) atleast not enough to warrent going DT in the 1st.

Dude, you are delusional if you think Worthy makes it out of the Top 25.

Without knowing what is going behind closed doors, you can't know whether we will even go offense or defense. For example if Smitty wants way too much money and we know we can't resign him suddenly the need for a wide receiver goes way up. We don't know what the trainers and coaches think about the rehab with davis or Beason right now. They may be way ahead or behind expectations. The players are always going to put a positive spin on things but what do the decision makers think??

Do we have any clue what the FO thinks about Hogan at this point?? Do we even have a clue about Stewart and whether they have received any offers that warrant a look??

Last year was easier, we had the first pick and we could take whoever we wanted and we all knew that it was going to be Cam. This year is not the same at all. We could take the NE model last year and work on improving the offense even more, so we can score 30 points a game which helps the defense by not needing to hold the opponent down as much. We could take the Giants approach and stock up on DEs and edge rushers. We could emphasize improving the back 7 by going linebacker and cornerback in the first 2 picks. Or we could go BPA regardless of whether we have a need there or not like we did with Kalil and Connors in the past.

Until we know what is going on in these meetings and we surely won't, we just have to sit back and speculate at this point. But no one knows what we are going to do, least of all Hurney. But you can believe he will be prepared for all contingencies..

Don't want either. Coples scares me with his dissapearing acts and on again off again motor. Half of his sacks came against duke last year. And we already have a luke k. On the team. James anderson. Both rack up tackles and are decent in coverage. But neither really pressure the passer.

For those of you saying he wasn't asked to rush the passer doesn't mean he can't, would you take a pitcher who you' ve never seen him pitch? Any lb we take will need to replace davis. Davis is a great pass rusher and playmaker, can luke really excel at anything but tackling?

How do you know?? If Smitty is not going to be resigned then needing a number 1 receiver is a huge need. If Kalil is there at 9 and he won't be but lets say he is, we will jump on him in a new York minute. Unless you are a professional scout for the Panthers your opinion means nothing more than anyone else's. It is fine to state your opinion, in fact it is welcome. But to dismiss other opinions as if you have some insider information is not. What you think and what you know may be very different.

I HATE our position in this draft. We need to find a way to trade down imo.

So since you want neither Coples or Kuechly who is it you actually want with our 9th pick?
