Gregg Williams Urged Saints To Injure 49Ers

ACLs and reinjuring guys coming off previous concussions is way over the top. But some of the head reference from what I heard was talking about getting into their mental frame of mind and affecting their thoughts not hitting them in the head literally Getting in their head in the pile means talking crap while he is down not taking a cheap shot to the head while he is lying there. I am not trying to defend a piece of crap like him and I do think he advocated for guys to take late hits and try to hurt folks but 2/3rds of what he said was the kind of material you can find any defensive coordinator say. He just took it over the top and crossed the line too often.

If he knew this was being taped and he said all that, I wonder what he did say when no one was around to capture it. It could have been a lot more explicit that this.

I can see why you would believe that, but it's kind of hard to agree when he uses the phrase "we want to kill Frank Gore's head." Especially, when he follows this up with "Little 32, we want to knock the fug out of him", "we hit fugin' Smith right here (points to chin)", "Go lay that motherfuger out", "Early, affect the head. Continue, touch and hit the head", "We need to find out...the little wide receiver, number 10, about his concussion", "we fuging take out that outside ACL", and "...how many times we can beat Frank Gore's Head".

He's definitely talking about injuring the other team, and he's definitely talking about aiming for the head physically.

I hear guys saying I want you to kill him, blow him up. Does that mean hit him hard or literally kill him and blow him up with a bomb?? When you hit the head it is mentally or physically?? Coaches do talk in metaphors all the time. Again I am not trying to excuse him as the bounty program is evidence there was a plan to hurt players but honestly just to hear what he said in isolation of what else we know, it is not that different from what I know is being said in other lockers rooms as well. Just not to the same extreme perhaps.

Let's see....talking about taking out Crabtree's ACL, trying to target a player's head who has a concussion, targeting Davis's ankles, hitting Smith in the head....

fug this team, this guy, his players, and anyone else who thought trying to end a player's career is a worthy pursuit.

Williams is one dirty coach. Any Saints fans who disagree with their punishment are not only dumb but they lack basic human morality and ethics. How would the Saints feel if Charles Johnson intentionally tore Drew Brees's ACL? Saints fans would probably be angry and throwing themselves off bridges like they are over the punishment handed down by Goodell. I've lost the last bit of respect I had for the New Orleans Saints franchise and a large portion of their fans. As of this day the Saints no longer deserve to be a team and any Saints fan who doesn't show humility about the bounties no longer deserves to be called a human being in my book. Accept your punishment and deal with it.
