Otah For A 2Nd Or 3Rd Round Pick...

He is in the same situation as Stewart. If traded, we can do Stewart for another year.

Otah is going into his last year of his rookie contract, so he is going to want to be paid next season based on this year. If he produces, we are in a situation of keeping him or not. In my opinion, he really is not dependable.

We picked up Campbell and we have Bell, so it may be a good time to get a value pick and move on.

This is Otah's make or break season.

If he plays more than 12+ games at a high level, then he will be franchised.

Then the next season, if he can play 12+ games he might get a long term deal.

You don't let cheap, super-high potential walk out the door.

No team would be willing to give up a 2nd and a 3rd for Otah and I don't think that he would want a huge contract after this year. He knows what he's brought to the team and how much he hasn't been able to contribute. He'll resign cheap to prove himself, if we still want him.

I'm so glad your not involved with any team decisions...........you don't have a clue.

Campbell and Bell are nowhere near the talent level of Otah. If he is helathy (and that is a big IF), he is a huge asset for this team.

I didn't read this whole thread but I assume almost every reply is something like one of these:

"there is literally no way you're getting anywhere near a 2nd or 3rd for someone who hasn't managed to see the field in two seasons"

OR

"Otah, when healthy, is better than any other option we have. Let's see if he recovers from Cheetoh leg"

I agree with both of these.

You couldn't trade Otah for a water cooler at the moment. That said, some of you are hugely overvaluing Otah's playing ability. He was NEVER anything more than pedestrian in pass coverage. He's a very good run blocker and that's about it. He was brought in under the Fox regime to solidify a run blocking line for Foxball. With his injury history, I'm further worried about his pass protection abilities. He might very well be worse than Bell in that area now, which would be pretty horrible considering the direction that this team is taking on offense.

People who run football teams are generally smart people and won't suggest or agree to such a bad trade.

Bell and Campbell suck, at least their is a chance Otah can stay healthy.
