Path To The Draft

Recommended Posts

Had two former personnel guys talk about what to do with our #9 pick. One guy sundqwist worked with Carolina thought Marty would take Poe because he had some of the same concerns as Kris Jenkins coming out of college. The other guy said it should be either Cox or Ingram if he's there, regardless they think the d-line should be addressed which is my thinking right now

Love to go d-line with the first two picks

I think there is no way a top 10 team pulls the trigger on Poe. Game film suggests that he would not start in a league of Conference USA players only. I would not be shocked if he drops to the second round. I know he is hyped by the press due to his combine, but he is a project. You do not take projects in the first round. Watch the YOU TUBE game vs. Arkansas State. He gets owned.

If Coples or Ingram is there, I think we consider it. I still think WR is a possibilty--people are overlooking that need. I also think Kuechly could be the frontrunner right now.

Hurney will not be making this pick--Rivera will. Hurney showed what he can do when he freelanced without lame duck Fox's input. We got Clausen (he tried to trade up to get him) and he traded up to get Edwards. Our biggest need was DT.

RR has a plan, and MH's input has little to do with it. He will be told who to pick and work out the contracts.

LOL, the OP is a bit confused. Tony Softli is the one who worked with the Panthers, and he thought we would take Dontari Poe, due to the fact that he compares to Kris Jenkins.

Sundquist (with the Broncos), said NO WAY to Poe, said Fletcher Cox and Melvin Ingram is intriguing for us.

You just got the names mixed around. That's all.

Sandquist seemed the more credible of the 2.

Absolutely. Softli was our Director of College Scouting for 11 years, and left to be VP of Player Personell for the Rams.. but was fired after last season.

Sundquist was the GM for the Broncos, and really knows his stuff. I was impressed.
