Justin Blackmon To Visit Panthers

Go ahead and take your 6'5" wrs.

Why do you care so much about height?

If you really knows anything about fb, you'll know that it takes more than height and speed.

Route running, being able to separate yourself from defenders, and the little things leads to bigger impact than just speed and height.

Elite Prospects like (who get drafted in the top 10 by teams which isn't there need ) Megatron, AJ green, and Fitz have both.

How about playing the best Competition in college every week which Blackmon didn't do.

And that's Blackmon's fault how? He tore up Stanford who is good competition and has a good defense.

Dude is still a great receiver. Has better hands than Julio, runs better routes than Julio, and is a good blocker. Julio might be the better athlete but that's not what we are arguing.

A version of the same misinformed poo, namecalling and so-forth were said about Cam last year. All these experts speaking as if they know something for a fact with their crystal balls. The fact is, nobody really knows what Blackmon will do in the NFL, but you can say with all surety that he had a distinguished college career. You can also say that size is not the be-all-end-all litmus test for a receiver to be successful in the nfl (see Smitty and Wes Welker among others). Moreover, it is a fact that Blackmon has big hops. Not saying that all this really means poo, but being that I have faith in Rivera,Chud, and company---and in my estimation they have done a great job thus far---I will defer to their knowledge and be happy if they pick Blackmon, trade up, down, or whatever they do.

BTW, this is this year. Not last year. Not next year. This year. Award winning Blackmon is one of the best coming out this year. There is no Suh. There is no McCoy, etc.

Get over yourselves!

So you coming in here saying Blackmon is the next best thing since slice bread and a sure fire star. Isn't doing the exact samething just reverse.

You have no clue what he will do in the league.

There might not be a SUh but there is a Cox.

You were just talking about the competition in college but now you are dismissing what he did because he will turn out to be a Jarrett.

And Julio was a great college WR as well, but still think Blackmon is better suited for the NFL.

Julio had a great rookie season. But he went to a great situation going to a playoff team even though he was drafted in the top 10.

Blackmon hasn't shown me anything that would make me think he couldn't be a good WR on the NFL level. He might not have the same production as Julio but I doubt he will be in a similar situation.

Jarrett was a problem. He didn't have the motivation to be better. He chose not to. He rather talk to the media than learning the play book. And two or three DUI got him kicked off the team. Blackmon is no where as stupid as jarrett. Why are you even comparing them? I don't see anything close between the two of them.

Who cares about what conference it is.

it's not like he's playing against DII or DIII schools.

Alot of people do. If he was in the SEC or Big 10 we could have saw him against the best CB coming out. Scout's like to see those Match up's.

Janoris is getting more run for what he did at UF then what he did at the other school.

I think Blackmon has more desire to be good than Crabtree has. Crabtree had that prolonged holdout and has only strung anout three good games in his career.

Blackmon has great start stop, body control and great catch instincts that are elite. His size and speed are avg but he reminds me of Roddy White.

...and yes to support the arguement above..Julio Jones, AJ Green are both considered a tier above Blackmon. Stephen Hill!! 6'5 and a 4.3 40 time...good catch skills..get him later...if a WR is in the Hurney plans.

We have no clues to what every rookie prospects are going to do in the NFL. That's why you take the best player with the most upside who you think can succeed. We don't even know if Luck can be a gem in the pro. Everyone said Clausen was a plug and go QB and that Cam be a bust, the next Jamarcus. Look what happened.

No you brought up he is a great Wr. I said he was a great College wr which is fact. You nor I know what he can be in the Pro's.

You aren't Mrs. Cleo neither am I. You are coming in with nothing but your opinion. He might not can get off the line scrimmage. Who knows until he does it.

He was great in college but so was D jarret, Carlos Rodgers, Mike Williams and Kerry Colbert. College success doesn't mean Pro success.

It would be nice to see him play against some sec cbs. Only if Osu had play in the national championship against either LSU or Bama, we all couldve end this conversation already.

But that's just something the scouts and media want to see. Just like Poe. One great combine, and he was over the top on every scouts and media's head. Who cares? If he proven himself over and over again, that's good enough.

You won't take him at 9th but some other team like the browns, Bucs, or rams who is drafting multiple spots ahead of us will probably draft him before we do.
