Justin Blackmon To Visit Panthers

A version of the same misinformed poo, namecalling and so-forth were said about Cam last year. All these experts speaking as if they know something for a fact with their crystal balls. The fact is, nobody really knows what Blackmon will do in the NFL, but you can say with all surety that he had a distinguished college career. You can also say that size is not the be-all-end-all litmus test for a receiver to be successful in the nfl (see Smitty and Wes Welker among others). Moreover, it is a fact that Blackmon has big hops. Not saying that all this really means poo, but being that I have faith in Rivera,Chud, and company---and in my estimation they have done a great job thus far---I will defer to their knowledge and be happy if they pick Blackmon, trade up, down, or whatever they do.

BTW, this is this year. Not last year. Not next year. This year. Award winning Blackmon is one of the best coming out this year. There is no Suh. There is no McCoy, etc.

Get over yourselves!

So you coming in here saying Blackmon is the next best thing since slice bread and a sure fire star. Isn't doing the exact samething just reverse.

You have no clue what he will do in the league.

There might not be a SUh but there is a Cox.

Didn't say any such thing, I said the kid had a distinguished college career, especially his last two years (and as was pointed out by another, he was also touted last year as well). Also pointed out that the biggest mouths should shut the hell up and trust the decision of the FO, whether it be Blackmon or whoever.

BTW, no one is mistaking Cox for Suh. That's kinda weak, just like your response to my post.

Top dog you never make a point. You always get in debate with little to no facts. But then act like you are some super Gm. Really????

Since you didn't get my point let me explain to the 3rd grader. Cox doesn't have to be Suh. He just has to be Fletcher Cox. Which is pretty good.

By the same token smartass. There might not be a Suh in this draft but there sure isn't a Megatron, Fitz, AJ green, or Andre Johnson type wr either.

Exactly. He don't have to be Megatron, Fitz, Green, or Andre Johnson... he just have to be Justin Blackmon.

I know you love cox, don't get so butt hurt.

I'm not going to bother reading through this thread but did someone call Blackmon a better prospect than Julio Jones?

LMAO!

Jones was very good in college and was much superior physically. Don't compare Jones to Hill. That's laughable. Jones was and is easily a better prospect than Blackmon was/is.

The only thing Blackmon has on Jones is college production and that's because of the system, the same system that got Crabtree overhyped and overdrafted. Blackmon is better than Crabs but the point remains. Jones was definitely a better prospect.

I don't mean to come off as a hater by the way. I don't think Blackmon is a top ten talent by any means but he should still be a solid receiver. He just lacks the upside I want in a receiver if I'm taking him in the top ten.

Yup I sure did also say Blackmon is better than Jones. Many have said that Blackmon could be a better wr than Dez. Blackmon played in the same system and with Dez at OSU.

I'd take Dez any day of the week over Julio.

Is that laughable?

This may have been said already, but

FLOYD -- alcohol concerns > Blackmon

I think Floyd has grown up (convincing interview). I take Floyd.

Reasons? Blackmon played in a WR-friendly offense in a league where offensive stats were gaudy. Floyd is taller, bigger, faster, and a better blocker. He has great hands, like Blackmon.

Remember, Blackmon has been listed or rated higher than Floyd all year by JOURNALISTS. Rightly so, perhaps.

Chud's offense likes the bigger WRs. See what SD had over the past 2 years. And do not underestimate the importance of blocking.

Not kidding at all--Floyd is a better fit here than Blackmon. We just have to make Mecklenburg a dry county.

Dude, I read that article since yesterday already.

And Gil Brandt is an old dude who don't even know what he's talking about any more. And if he's any close, the key words are: 'taken in the 11-12 pick'. Blackmon is a sure top 5-10 pick.

You need to do some research on your own and quit basing your reasons from people's blog, who are getting paid to write craps.

You're foolish to think that a WR should be tall as fawk and speed like lighting. Go see if you could get Usain Bolt to come play WR in the NFL.

I'm ending this conversation with you idiot.

This is a great example of a narrow-minded "know-it-all" who gets an ego boost by pretending to know more than others about the unknown. Allow me to demonstrate:

First, you lose credibility when you discount the knowledge of an NFL expert (based on the fact that he has several decades of experience) to prove your point. You suggest that only young people without the burdens of age and experience can comprehend the new demands of the NFL on your level. Your logic is dizzying.

Then you say that you should not read content from people "who are getting paid to write craps." We should read your craps, however, since you obviously are not getting paid.

Finally, you conclude like a gunslinger who realizes he was shooting blanks and he is out of ammo. You call the person who opposes your position an "idiot."

Nice argument. I am convinced.

Yah I don't know anything, but obviously you do, right?

Gil Brandt was probably one the the many 'experts' who believed Cam would not be successful. And that Clausen and Gabbert were plug and play qb from day one bc of their experience in a pro style offsense.

I'm not a person who reads blog everyday from experts like you do and base my opinion on them. Gil Brandt is pretty much retrofitting. Putting himself in a situation where there's no way he can be wrong by wording his words in a specific way.

If Floyd is taking before Blackmon, all he has to say to y'all believers is, I told you guys I was right didn't I.

If he's wrong, he's going to say, I never said he was going to. I said he 'should' . At the end of the day, Brandt comes out a winner anyway and y'all smart pants will pay to read a stupid blog.

I'm not retrofitting. I'm saying Blackmon will be taken before Floyd. Not maybe, not should, not whatever. But 'will' . If I'm wrong , I can live with it and will admit my wrong.

Floyd will be BPA at 9. Blackmon will not make it past Jacksonville and Dolphins pretty much obligated to take BPA QB at #8. Again, this is a passing league. The more weapons the better. Panthers would score 30 points in first 30 mins of the game and then score little to no points in 2nd half. Also, in first 8 games of the season Smith had 918 yards, in last 8 game of the season Smith had 476 yards. Yes, we won more games in 2nd half of the season against weaker competition. People who refusing to believe WR is a glaring need are just blind.

WR is a future need but CB is a now need. Smith, Gettis, Lafell, Olsen, Williams, Stewart, it would be hard to fit someone else into that rotation when there are glaring needs on the other side of the ball.

So you gave up Hogan? A guy who was supposed to be 1st rounder before ACL tear? What a shame. And don't tell me he's #3 because Captain is great in slot.

No but I like Kirkpatrick more. The receivers that our defense has to defend are getting bigger, Benn 6'2 220, Jackson 6'5 230, Williams 6'1 212, Colston 6'4 225, Graham 6'6 260, Jones 6'3 220, White 6'0 212.
