How do you feel now?

http://blogs.nfl.com/2012/04/03/receiver-prospect-floyd-could-be-drafted-before-blackmon-after-notre-dame-pro-day/

After the excellent workout Michael Floyd had at Notre Dame’s pro day Tuesday, I feel he conceivably could be drafted before fellow blue-chip receiver prospect Justin Blackmon.

Representatives from 18 NFL teams were there, including Bears coach Lovie Smith, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis, and the receivers coaches for the Ravens, Browns and Bears. Prospects ran indoors on FieldTurf.

Kidding right?

Tell me how many of those teams listed there (cincy, browns, ravens, bears) are drafting in the top ten. One! That's the browns only. And im sure the browns are not wasting the no.4 pick on Floyd. It'll be their later first round pick if they were going to take Floyd.

How do you feel now?

I didn't say that I wanted to draft him if he fell. He'd be a consideration but it's not a sure thing. I'd actually prefer to trade down.

You just speak in absolutes so much that we think you are talking about facts. For example when you said:

Jones runs a 4.2 with a broken foot nobody with a brain thinks Blackmon is a better talent then JJ.

If you consider speed the only factor then you aren't getting the full read on players.

I will just leave it at this: Yes competition should play a factor in evaluating players but not the degree where you discount players because they played in a weaker competition. I truly believe that if Blackmon played elsewhere he'd produce just the same because of the ability that he possesses. Like I said, competition is not a choice. But when Blackmon played against Stanford a good defense, he performed. They hadn't allowed a 100 yard receiver all year until Blackmon almost hung 200 yards on them.

Floyd, WR, (6-foot-3 1/8, 220 pounds) — Floyd made himself some money Tuesday. He stood on the 4.47-second 40-yard dash that he ran at the NFL Scouting Combine, but he did the short shuttle (4.5 seconds) and three-cone (7.16 seconds) at the pro day.

Floyd is very fluid and runs good routes. He’s a big target, has excellent speed and caught the ball extremely well. He likely got a boost from having former Irish QB Jimmy Clausen throwing the ball to him, because the two are comfortable with each other.

Floyd really moved himself up the charts Tuesday, and again, his performance should at least have people putting him side-by-side with Blackmon; as I wrote, personally, I would rank Floyd higher. Floyd is a little faster and a little taller, and he’s been pretty productive in college. I think he should be taken with the 11th or 12th pick in the draft.

Do you know who Gil brandt is? Maybe you need to google search him before posting again.

Speed and Size are look at alot when talking about WR. This is a fact. Julio is 6'3 220 and runs a 4.3 regularly. He was given AJ a run for his money for the top spot last year (special after the combine). Blackmon is not in their class.

He is not in their class speed wise, that is true. And Julio never reached AJ Green's status because of Julio's hands, which many know are used to receive the ball. That's another thing I would want to look at when talking about WR.

But if we are looking at speed and size, do you have Stephen Hill above Blackmon because of it?

Dude, I read that article since yesterday already.

And Gil Brandt is an old dude who don't even know what he's talking about any more. And if he's any close, the key words are: 'taken in the 11-12 pick'. Blackmon is a sure top 5-10 pick.

You need to do some research on your own and quit basing your reasons from people's blog, who are getting paid to write craps.

You're foolish to think that a WR should be tall as fawk and speed like lighting. Go see if you could get Usain Bolt to come play WR in the NFL.

I'm ending this conversation with you idiot.

I'm not going to bother reading through this thread but did someone call Blackmon a better prospect than Julio Jones?

LMAO!

Jones was very good in college and was much superior physically. Don't compare Jones to Hill. That's laughable. Jones was and is easily a better prospect than Blackmon was/is.

The only thing Blackmon has on Jones is college production and that's because of the system, the same system that got Crabtree overhyped and overdrafted. Blackmon is better than Crabs but the point remains. Jones was definitely a better prospect.

I don't mean to come off as a hater by the way. I don't think Blackmon is a top ten talent by any means but he should still be a solid receiver. He just lacks the upside I want in a receiver if I'm taking him in the top ten.

Gil brandt has built a dynasty in real life. You build sorry Madden teams. People pay for his opinion nobody gives a fug what you think.

You're not in his class when it comes to football. By making that statement you've shown how much of a dumb ass you are.

After the Combine there were some teams who had Julio rated higher but Greens hands made him better to more teams at the end of the day.

And I do think Hill has a higher celling don't you?

Yep that was me. I think Blackmon is a better WR prospect than Julio Jones was. You can't compare NFL Julio to Blackmon now. Blackmon possess more qualities that I want in a WR regardless of the system he ran. I consider that when I evaluate players but don't think that's what makes him a good WR. Don't see why that's so laughable.

And I am not comparing Julio Jones to Hill at all. Just critiquing the evaluation of players. You can't just look at certain factors and think that overrides everything else.

After the Combine there were some teams who had Julio rated higher but Greens hands made him better to more teams at the end of the day.

Yeah he does but that doesn't mean everything. I mean Martin has a higher upside than Reiff but I don' see any one going out of their way to draft him over Reiff.

Hill is raw and will need to be coached up.
