Softli picking Poe then immediately getting owned by another by another "analyst" who picked Cox. The argument killing Poe was that the 3 cone drill is the best predictor of DT success.

I'm not a fan of Poe either, but that's just not a good argument. Poe is 340 pounds, yet he's comparing his 3 cone drill times to 300 pound linemen. Raji only had a 7.90, Ngata only had 7.97, Kris Jenkins only had 7.86. In other words, Poe's time is bad for a 3 technique but good for a NT.

Yeah and if the 3 technique gets double teamed by 2 linemen, you have to ask if the NT was doing his job properly. You can also blitz LB's to take advantage of the double team. Basically if a 3 technique constantly beats double teams, that's freaking amazing, but not constantly beating double teams isn't a horrible thing, especially when Cox still did OK against them.

You have no clue of what your talking about. Even as he was double team he never lost his position never push back. He got 1 sack going up the middle and kept pushing until he got to the QB that shows a great motor. If he is commanding double teams ( something we haven't had at DT since Kris Jenkins). He is freeing up CJ, Hardy, and The LB's to make plays. He has long arms and great get off. He will get us alot of holding calls with his get off. He has a framed that can get bigger (like 325-330) with out losing speed. Then you add in that he is just as athletic as the best DE coming out.

What problem do you have with him?

Above quote & before, nice assessment koolkat! You are seeing what I have seen in him (not sure that's really a compliment, but hey take it for what it's worth! :P )

I need for NC stoner to see the difference between a good DT performance and a so-so performance then maybe you can tell the difference.

This is Brockers against Bama

Notice how he gets pushed off the ball.

No I didn't. They're both going to be projects and they'll need time before they will be a factor. I think Cox is further along but only as a pass rusher coming off the edge.

Just something I found interesting on espn.com, Fletcher Cox has shot up to the #6 overall prospect in the draft and the #1 at his position. Not sure what made scouts change their minds, but he should have been #1 at his position a while ago. #6 overall was interesting to me.

No offense, but I'm sure that means little to nothing to Hurney and his staff.

At least, I sure hope it does. It would be shame if Hurney had Kiper's big board bookmarked.
