It Is Going To Be Fletcher Cox.......

So you didn't notice him spending most of the day in Bama's backfield?

Yeah, not sure what he was watching kookat. It's hard to only watch 1 video & know anything tho. Bama has a very good OL & dominated the other top DTs. Cox was BY FAR the most disruptive against Bama. Cox plays hard consistently & is disruptive consistently.

Here another Video against 11 win USC (South Cak). But again people won't see him do anything.

Notice how he destroyed the RB trying to block him and all the double teams south carolina did on him.

Softli picking Poe then immediately getting owned by another by another "analyst" who picked Cox. The argument killing Poe was that the 3 cone drill is the best predictor of DT success. I have no idea if this is true, but if so it doesnt make Poe look nearly so athletic, which is the only real reason you are drafting him. Cox's time is great, only worse than Coples.

Im all in on Cox fellas.

Combine 3 cone drill times:

7.07 - DE/DT Quinton Coples

7.09 - DT Fletcher Cox

7.10 - DT Von Meatoga

7.19 - DT Mike Martin

7.26 - DT/3-4 DE Derek Wolfe

7.31 - DT/DE Brett Roy

7.31 - DT Tydreke Powell

7.32 - DT/3-4 DE Jaye Howard

7.37 - DT/3-4 DE Billy Winn

7.38 - DE/DT Malik Jackson

7.43 - DT/3-4 DE Kendall Reyes

7.43 - DT Marcus Khun

7.46 - DT Michael Brockers

7.47 - 4-3 DT/3-4 DE Jared Crick

7.49 - DT Kheeston Randall

7.60 - DT Jerel Worthy

7.64 - DT Marcus Forston

7.65 - DT Dajohn Harris

7.69 - DT/3-4 DE Ryan Van Bergen

7.74 - DT Chas Alecxih

7.75 - DT/DE Akiem Hicks

7.82 - DT Dom Hamilton

7.90 - NT Dontari Poe

7.94 - NT Hebron Fangupo

7.97 - DT Brandon Thompson

8.07 - DT Christian Tupou

I like how he can play multiple positions. I don't know if anyone remembers but the Giants D line has players that can play different positions on the line so they can make changes. So the question to me is do we try to copy the successful Giants to get a versatile linemen? I would love to get him after watching the video but we really need a corner more than a DT.

I was also thinking if we was going to get Cox why not trade down so we could possibly get a 3rd round pick and possibly another 2nd round pick. If we could do something like that we could really help the future of our franchise. I say we trade down and draft Cox in the first, Stephen Hill in the second then Keenan Robinson in the 3rd (assuming we acquire a 3rd round pick from a trade.) If we could get an extra 2nd round pick from trading down then we could draft a good CB with that pick.

If we cannot trade down then I would honestly rather get a CB in the first round then a WR in the second.

Again he looked best when coming off the edge. He was facing a freshmen LG, who he did beat I will give you that, but when he faced a more experienced guard on the right he got lost.

Quick feet and good balance = much harder to block. I don't know if there is a statistical correlation between the 3 cone drill and DT success, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Do you notice the constant double teams? How he snuff out the screen. No much running lanes for Latimore.

He will face double teams in the NFL from bigger, faster, and stronger linemen at defensive tackle. He had absolutely ZERO push when he saw a double team and I forgot who I was looking for most of the time.

And if he does That's great for the other guys on the Dline and the Lb's behind him. Who won't have to deal with the 2 guys on him. Do you watch football at all?

From the USC video you can tell that he plays too high and gets beat by inferior linemen. His only success at pass rush was from the end and the double teams were mostly out of their 34 package, meaning the offense had an extra guy to help block him. If you notice he gets a good jump off the snap but because of his technique he is easily dealt with, you can't stand up and that is exactly what he does. He is a project at DT and there are better projects at the same position. I would like him if we could trade down but a CB is needed much more at pick 9.

You have no clue of what your talking about. Even as he was double team he never lost his position never push back. He got 1 sack going up the middle and kept pushing until he got to the QB that shows a great motor. If he is commanding double teams ( something we haven't had at DT since Kris Jenkins). He is freeing up CJ, Hardy, and The LB's to make plays. He has long arms and great get off. He will get us alot of holding calls with his get off. He has a framed that can get bigger (like 325-330) with out losing speed. Then you add in that he is just as athletic as the best DE coming out.

What problem do you have with him?
