It Is Going To Be Fletcher Cox.......

What the hell are you watching? Cox is getting good pressure and penatration in the backfield. The RB is having to cut back off his pressure. Even the TV guy is saying he having a good game. He finished the game with 4 tackles 2 for lost yardage.

Like I said, he looked good coming off the edge.

3-4 LB is a harder position to play than a 4-3 LB.... a 3-4 OLB has to pretty much be the size of a DE while simultaneously dropping into coverage. The reason a lot of 3-4 OLB's look like superstars is because that is where the studs are put. The ILB's in the 3-4 have to deal with a lot more lineman coming at them, due to the fact they have no Dline coming in at them. That being said, unless it is an OLB in a 3-4 system, LBers are not as a highly valued position. Dline gets pressure and opens up room for your 4-3 linebackers....

P.S. A 3-4 defense is not an easier defense... Really?

I would beg to differ. I would say it is harder to transition from a 4-3 to a 3-4, but if a team has the personal to play a 3-4 most elect to due to so because once you have the personnel to play a 3-4 it's fairly simple to pick up.

You notice they started running away from him later on in the game. Also he had more then 4 tackle they crap him on the stats.

I also noticed he was being double teams a lot and still made contact and slowed down the play. He also chased the players down and didn't give up on plays. There was a play where Richardson was about to get more yards but Cox came back and made the tackle and everyone else followed to stop Richardson.

He has a motor but I do not see him working out in a 43 as a DT.

Fletcher has been my pick even while the "experts" were high on Poe, Brockers, etc. I love his motor. He is a team guy that Rivera can be creative with b/c of his skill set. High character guy.

He can certainly play a 43 DT, but additionally as a DE.

Oh, I keep thinking of things. There are game cuts of 2 or 3 more top DTs playing against Alabama. I watched all I could get my fingers on when assessing what player I would like for our #9 pick. The only other player I like here would be Michael Floyd (but I want us to go with D, which is why Cox is my #1 choice).

if carolina is smart they will not zone in on 1 player. They will watch how the draft unfolds. hopefully teams trade up to take OL which I think will happen thus pushing DL down in the draft and allowing carolina to trade down pick up an extra pick and still get 1 of the players they wanted.

Im ready for the draft to be over so all these people who dont know crap about football will crawl back under the rock they came from. If you dont see Cox dominating that line and being double teamed as well you dont know jack poo about football. He was dictating those plays he was in.

The secreat is out Fella's

In my initial projection of the top 10 picks, I went against popular opinion and had the Vikings taking wide receiver Justin Blackmon over left tackle Matt Kalil.

Now, in my first full Mock Draft, I have another surprise: Fletcher Cox coming off the board in the top 10. The Mississippi State product offers a rare blend of explosive power and athleticism with a motor that won't quit. This draft class offers solid depth at defensive tackle, and Cox is the cream of the crop. This is a player Carolina can build its downtrodden defense around.

Melvin Ingram went to the Panthers in my initial top-10 forecast, but with Carolina opting for Cox, Ingram slides down to the Jets at No. 16. Rex Ryan & Co. would be ecstatic to get this versatile pass rusher.
