Zelda 2 for NES

I'm actually re-living my childhood frustrations playing this on the wii when I get the rare chance.

Just about any game on older systems are harder simply because you can't just save the game right where you are, very few games had checkpoints, and if you ran out of lives you had to start all the way at the beginning.

I think the only game that really frustrated me as a kid was Silver Surfer on the NES.

i have never beaten super return of the jedi to this day. also when i was a kid super mario bros 3 was pretty tough.

A lot of people loved Star Fox SNES and beat it multiple times. I just couldn't do it for some reason. Never got past the third level no matter what path I took.

I thought the Super Star Wars games weren't easy, but weren't the hardest.

Just have to know when to use thermal detonators if you aren't playing as a jedi, or what force powers to use if you are.

That fight with Vader that starts in a small room before you're thrown into a gigantic cavern of an airship hanger was hard as hell though. Pissed me off to no end as a kid.

I agree, I tried & tried to get to the next levels but this game started out hard and only got almost impossible.

I can't think of any old ones that were difficult. I had a lot more patience to play them then.

Finishing MGS2 on EE in the shortest time bracket was probably the most difficult I can remember.
