Terrence Jones

Could we trade back in the first and try getting this guy. He has all the attributes and physical tools and play like a beast every game. Heck, I think he could be playing football if he wanted to. I'd like for us to get bigger. Just wondering what y'all think. Wouldn't mind giving a next year first to grab Jones. Would be awesome to have Davis and Jones in this year draft.

No thanks. He is undersized for the four and doesn't provide the perimeter athleticism or range to the play three. He has flashes of attitude problems and doesn't necessarily have the overall package a lottery pick should. I wouldn't mind a Terrence Jones late in the first or top of second...but anything higher would be a reach (IMO). NBADraft.net has him compared to Marvin Williams while draftexpress has him best case as Michael Beasley..though Beasley is a much better shooter.

FWIW, IMO.

Im not taking him this year as a lotto pick.

I'm all for Davis.

I think Jones is someone who is going to be a 15-20 pick player. I wouldn't mind trading in that range and grab him for a future pick.

Thomas Robinson is a sure lotto pick and is being dominated by Jones right now.

First off, Anthony Davis is our guy.

Second, Terrence Jones is an undersized power forward, which is not one of our huge needs.

Third, if we were going to package guys together it better be Davis and Kidd-Gilchrist.

Theres no way we getting Davis and Gilchrist. Both are going in the top five.

I brought up Jones bc he's one who we could trade back up and get in the 15-20 range.

Thomas Robinson is probably a sure lotto pick. Hes also flashing attitude problems right now. Jones is dominating Robinson tonight. Jones is not a lotto pick but I'd like to trade back in the mid to take this guy.

I think in the NBA, attitude is not so much a problem like in the NFL. If you watch, many players from Lebron to Blake Griffin to etc.... all flash attitude problem. I think it has to do more within the game itself than just the player.

If we could trade Thomas to get Terrance I would do that.

C- Bismack Biyombo, Byron Mullens

PF- Anthony Davis, Terrence Jones, D.J. White

SF- Reggie Williams, Corey Maggette, Derrick Brown

SG- Gerald Henderson

PG- Kemba Walker

That's a solid group right there to continue the rebuilding process with.

Would be nice. I would try trading Maggette also.

Not a fan of his shot selection. Over the past two years I have seen him rely way too much on his athleticism and try to over power people. That won't work in the NBA. He needs some work on his shot for him to be successful in the NBA. He's a pretty well rounded player but with the way he plays he needs a mid range shot.

    • With all the money invested in the offensive line, we really need to hit on some Round 1-3 picks.  We could really use a star receiver or pass rusher on a rookie contract for a few years.
    • I understand everyone being happy but let's try not to turn it into another schoolgirl crush festival. No offense. It isn't slower WRs that cause wild overthrows. They have all kinds of practice. It is his mechanics keeping things under control that allows a more efficient conversion of energy, let's call it, into the throw, that we are seeing.  He was doing it with horrible mechanics and needing to put 100% effort to get the ball that far. That totally fugs your accuracy. There is video of Mahomes and Carr on this site that I have linked with them throwing under control vs all out trying to get the most velocity on a radar gun. It shows exactly what I am saying. I didn't make it up. I have been telling y'all for a year at least. It really is all about the margins with Young and he has to be very attentive to his technique to get the most from what he has. He is doing that now and this is the new 'what he can do'. And this is it, there ain't no more. You decide if that's enough for you I guess. But you are noticing better ball flight and zip I am pretty sure, it comes from there. Again go look at the Buffalo drive in preseason and you will see that same thing you see lately. To do that stuff you have to be willing to stand tall come what may, sometimes. Hopefully you have protection to step up safely but the difference making happens when you stand in there and finish just ahead of a hit.  ..... And btw, the straw that broke the camel's back when Tepper fired Reich, was because he couldn't fix it in a week. One of the last issues that I remember was about Young's footwork. You know, I guess it is normal that 10 weeks into the season someone just realized, or finally accepted, that Young had major fundamentals issues. It took them a lot longer to realize it isn't an overnight fix. And my issues with Young were specifically over this stuff. Major rehab job, you don't pay what we paid for that. Hopefully he is 'fixed' and it 'took' and he doesn't go back into his little safe space of the old mechanics like he did week 1. If he hangs with the new, this is what you are working wth now. We just saw his ceiling.
    • i'm not nearly 100%, but i'm trending that way. He's definitely got me around 75%.
