Every single LB they ever drafted under the current regime except Jerod Mayo was a total scrub (Crable, Guyton, and Woods have potential but haven't been great yet and those are all just the past couple years). They eff up too. They are worse at drafting WRs in the second round than the Cats are. Colbert & Jarrett > Chad Jackson and Bethel Johnson. What they do better than the Cats is cover up their weaknesses.

I was just throwing a name out there of a guy in the "meat" of the draft (Rounds 3-7) who had a lot of potential but hasn't amounted to much. As Herm Edwards said on the ESPN telecast today, the foundation of teams are built in the last 4 rounds. Not everyone is the superstar, so the guys picked in these rounds are what really makes up a team.

That being said, to our credit, we have made several nice selections late in drafts. Problem is the best ones we usually let go: Rashad Butler (I believe he became a starter with Houston), Jovan Haye (became a beast with TB), Stanley McClover (think he got some PT with Houston too, but he had a lot of potential). CJ Wilson has been well worth the value of where we got him.

But with guys like that DT we took from Missouri in 2005, Eric Shelton, Stefan Lefors, etc., that kind of negates the small contribution we've gotten from later round picks. The Pats cover their weaknesses well because the guys they get late contribute more than most 1st and 2nd rounders other teams draft (Brady, Asante Samuel, Ellis Hobbs, etc.)
