Dan Connor sucked here. Don't know what you were watching. Keuchly is about 10 times better than Connor. Quit judging people by their skin color. God I hate when players get compared to other players just because their skin color

I agree.....he is much more like Aaron Curry.

Yeah, for example, when Cam was being compared to JaWalrus... That was idiotic.

I sorta want us to draft Kuechly so he can prove the haters wrong like Cam did last year..

I'd love for him to do that on another team. Missing on a franchise QB is a helluva a lot different than reaching for a 4-3 LB in the Top 10.

I think you should look up the definition. Are you a racist? Maybe or maybe not. Is it stereotyping? Absolutely.

If you wanted to say you think he will be a bust since BC defense funneled the plays to him and he is a sure tackler. Then that would not be racist but it would be accurate.

No that wouldn't be accurate at all. it just looked like Kuechly had plays funnelled to him because he ran from sideline to sideline making plays everywhere. Now lets compare him to Curry except Curry wasn't white.

I think its time for you to let those combine numbers go... GMs look at the tape and not the combine and thats why we will not pick him at 9.

If everyone went off the combine then we would have Blane Gabbert instead of Cam.

He was voted the best linebacker in college last year before the combine when all they had was tape. Tape is where he shines the most.

Where have you been? Most pundits believe he is the safest pick in the first round no matter where he goes.

If I'm being honest, I've thought to myself Kuechly isn't as "explosive" as say a Patrick Willis. There are tons of great white linebackers in the NFL but in general black players are stereotyped as more athletic. There is something in the brain that makes us draw these comparisons. That's why every white WR is Wes Welker. Every white DB is Jason Sehorn. Sometimes black QBs get compared to each other.

All of this is just thoughts. I'm not big on chastising someone for a racial thought. Racist behavior is what we should be worried about. Society has gotten so worried about this thoughts in the last 20 years.

One of the reasons the combine is there is to level the playing field whether the bias is the conference they played in, the competition, their athleticism, etc. It allows a guy like Kuechly to go head to head as well as unknowns to compare to him. But I do agree that he is getting undue criticism because he is white. Nevermind that he had better stats in 3 years than Willis did in 4 year and their combine numbers are very similar. I really think Kuechly will be every bit as good as Willis is.

Boston College opinions on Luke

first off, love kuechly, but...

his ability to be a statistical freak is in my opinion directly connected to our diminished ability to defend the pass…

Okay, now about Kuechly (and I’d like to preface this by saying this is in no way his fault), the reason he continually gets 20+ tackles in games is because we will ALWAYS allow for receivers to catch the ball because we play off of them in zone coverage, this of course makes us extremely susceptible to screen plays… How many times did Duke dump it off to one of the sides and then the back or receiver would pick up 5-8 yards before Kuechly had time to make his way from the middle of the field and bring um down?

It has nothing to do with how aggressive our D can be, and virtually everything to do with poor coaching and a bad D-line.

The D is designed for corners to funnel any rusher toward the LB. It’s pretty much just a Cover 2/3 system with some rigid concepts thrown in to play the probabilities. Of course, this leaves you vulnerable to screen passes, so you have to mix in man coverage or press a bit to stop it. Failure #1, we never adjusted until the end of the game and let Duke run screen after screen against 15 yard cushions. In addition, in normal years, the D-line should eat up a lot of Kuechly’s tackles by stopping rushers with the front 4. Instead, it sucks, and they’re letting guys get into the backfield constantly for Kuechly to tackle them. He’s doing his job, but this D isn’t designed to function if he’s the only one doing it.
