Typical Time To Return After Achilles Tear

Beason will be 100% week 1. Oh, and Thomas Davis is going to be fine.....his 3 ACL tears aren't all related. No worries. I saw them both tweet they would be back.

LB isnt important. I hardly noticed we didn't have any real talent on the field at that spot as TEs picked us apart and teams ran to the outside with great ease

The Kuechly would have been a Fox Hurney pick. Rivera and Hurney not so much.

Hard to say what a Rivera pick is and isn't. I tend to think he values LB more than some suggest.....I mean he did play it, played with a all time great, and has coached great ones.....

That is the recovery time to play not the time it takes to get back to 100%. Most players never do and those that do often take at least 1 or 2 years. Takeo Spikes took 3 seasons and Ryans in still in the middle of it. I hope I am wrong but I am not looking for Beason to be 100% this year. And lets be honest, Beason at 85% is not better than a guy at 100%. I think linebacker is actually going to be one of our thinnest positions this year when everything is said and done. It is a shame we have invested so much and injuries have taken away our best linebackers.

it happens repeatedly fields, Morgan. Da is, beason.

Lb is such a difficult position to have a long, good career. Which makes guys like ray Lewis, that more impressive.

Being as objective as possible, the study many of our achilles-recovery stats come from was based on data from nearly 10 years ago. No time to look up & link at the moment, sorry. The average age of players was 29 and (as noted) some of this group were larger linemen. Takeo Spikes is a worthwhile comparison, but Beason has shown to be a good healer in the past. I'm cautiously optimistic that by mid-season Beason will be much closer to 90-95% back. As he gets playing time, therapy, and familiarity in the system I think his productivity will improve significantly. But we are seriously thin at linebacker. Drafting or acquiring done solid, high ceiling prospects is in order.

Drafting a linebacker in round one because the other linebackers you drafted in round one are question marks is more treadmill mentality than a solid solution plan.

Especially when beason was drafted partly because dan morgan was unreliable as far as staying healthy was concerned.

So basically what i'm saying is the same people who want keuchly now are going to want the top linebacker prospect in a few years if keuchly gets hurt (and we have terrible luck when it comes to first round linebacker health it seems)
