Is There Any Merit In Trying To Deal Otah To Philadelphia?

I can't think of one team that would want Otah as is. If he performs well this season, then yes. But we'll keep him if he did that.

I can think of a lot that would want him....all 31 teams would want him if cut and cheap. Why wouldn't you want a pro bowl caliber tackle when on the field who has no off field or lockerroom issues.

If Carolina was 100% sure they were going to start someone else they should still keep Otah this year. great depth.

Because he's never been to the Pro Bowl, is more broke down than your grandpa's rusty Dodge, and isn't worth the contract his agent will ask for. Now if you can get him on the cheap, sure. But he won't do that.

if philadelphia offers a fifth do you take it?

No, because if he has a great year and walks, then we'll get a higher compensatory pick. He's a top 10 RT when he's healthy, and if he gets hurt again next season, then the risk was worth the potential reward.

I think people are failing to realize that he was placed on IR last year as a preventative measure. They didn't do it because he was re-injured, they did it to give him the rest of the year to heal so they can keep him long term.

This board has a much dimmer view of Otah than the team does.
