Is There Any Merit In Trying To Deal Otah To Philadelphia?

I am an Otah fan..he maulhed the Giants Defensive line on Monday Night football and is Elite when healthy. Hopefully Rivera and staff shut him down last season to invest in the win now season and get Otah in form.

If Otah is unhealthy this year, then he is gone and not resigned.

....but if healthy... we have a pro bowl like RT and we will praise the trainers and staff for shelving him as he signs an awful contract with the Redskins next season!

I am not so sure they are in the market for another injured tackle

No?

Profootballtalk.com, the Eagles have contacted the agent of former San Diego Chargers Pro Bowl offensive tackle Marcus McNeill. McNeill was a one of the best offensive tackles in the NFL for a number of years until the 2011 season when he suffered a serious neck injury.

if there is no evidence that otah has found a way to overcome his inability to play through pain, i would take a fifth-rounder in a heartbeat. there is virtually no chance he'll be here next year.

Disagree.

No way we let him walk if he plays 14+ games and has a probowl season.

Dude is the most talented player on the line.

My prediction, he plays out the season. Plays well, then gets franchised. Plays out the next season, and if we plays 14+ games again, he will be signed long term deal that will be incentive laden.

i agree - i preceded my statement with

clearly if he plays the majority of games he has overcome the ability to play through pain, and he'd be an asset to hang onto. as it stands we have seen zero evidence to that end.

oh my bad.

Then I believe we are in a agreement.

If he plays less than 10 games then he will probably walk.

If he can't make it through a contract year then he needs to be let go.

Its a shame too cause the dude is talented enough to be an all pro.
