Lets Take A Look Back At The Huddles Opinion On Drafting Cam Before The Draft

Hate to burst your bubble KT, but you are still proving yourself to be one of the most racist people on this board.

You kept saying that people did not want Cam and would not support Cam because he was black. Yet, the huddle masses have once again shown you that Cam's race had nothing to do with anything. If we were all the racists that you claim, we would continue to NOT support Cam because he is black.

Some of us questioned the Cam pick becuase of what he did not exhibit in college....even though it has been proven that he did not do those things because of the scheme and not because of his ability. We have and do support Cam as our QB...not a white QB or a black QB...but the Panthers QB.

You have shown that you were really one of a few who even cared about the color of his skin....we cared about what he could deliver on the field.

Run along now.

Very true, KT is one of the primary offenders in pointing out race, he had "The Black QB" in his sig for months, my question is if Cam was exactly the same but white would KT still have supported him?

*Also i will admit, I hated the pick, mostly because of posters like KT i even went as far as starting a smack thread about how much i hated the pick*

But I will also admit two weeks later the pick grew on me and now I am ecstatic that is was wrong. GO SUPERCAM.

I can't pie or +rep this post enough.

Most every single Panthers' fan are supporting Cam like no other player on the team now. Were there questions about his skill level coming out of college, especially after the Gruden interview? Absolutely, but those had nothing to do with race, and everything to do with what we thought he would be on the field.

We were wrong. Let's move along now. Cam is our QB, and I think almost every fan loves him now. He is on the fast track to being the greatest Panther ever.

Can we drop the race issue now?

Doug had one of the best Super Bowl performances of all time the day after having a 6-hour root canal surgery done.

How badass is that?

One of my all time favorite players and one of my favorite moments in sports. He took a wicked shot early in that game and there was a question as to if he could return. But return he did :):)

Kalil never said any such thing.

He *did* make a joke at Cam's expense about the "icon and entertainer" thing though... because (1) Kalil is a funny guy and (2) Cam was just a rook.

You really, seriously think Kalil publically stated he didn't want to play with Cam AFTER Cam had been drafted? Seriously?

Yes. NFL Network. About 2 weeks ago. He was looking back on when we drafted Cam. That is EXACTLY what he said.

What Kalil was making fun of Cam about was his "lion" comment, because Ryan and Jordan drew Cam on a whiteboard as a lion as a joke. Cam told the media about it after the Christmas Eve win over Tampa.

By the way, I was at that game and it was such a blast. Out of all the games I've been to the atmosphere that Christmas Eve day was ELECTRIFYING!!!

I definitely doubted Cam before we drafted him. I have never been so happy to be wrong in my life.

I have doubts about any player coming out of college until the prove it on the field, and especially at the qb position. That comes from years of watching so many of them end up as bust.

Regarding Cam, I knew he was a risk, but I felt he was a risk we had to take.
