You change the definition of everything to fit the new argument you make in every post.

The point of posting all that was all of the pessimism and negativity you filled the board with regarding the Panthers. Yet, in this very thread you talk about how Charlotte is known for fairweather fans and you don't need them, blah, blah, blah... What is that then KT?

Seriously man.

I'm only making that point because I know you were here before Cam, and you're still here after him. Just like I have been here since day one supporting the Panthers, Hornets when we had them, and now the Cats, and always will be... But, just as you did, if I don't like something, I'm going to complain about it. It doesn't make me any less of a fan. The bandwagoners disappear... True fans don't, whether they're happy or not.

So, to throw stones at fellow fans over something you don't approve of personally is hypocritical when you've done the same thing yourself from your glass house.

You have made your disdain clear for JR in several posts... Does that make you a traitor? Should you everyone else consider your thoughts and opinions null and void now? That's what you're equating the name change to... And as a fan of all of our hometeams, that is insulting to me. My support doesn't change for these franchises. Ain't no kool-aid pumping in these veins buddy...

And another thing... If Charlotte and the Carolinas are known for being fairweather fans, how does supporting a rebrand to your original franchise's brand support that? If anything, it shows a sense of pride and loyalty.

If you think it's a bad idea, then you are entitled to that. But there is no need to insult fans like myself who HAVE been here and will continue to be whether we ever rebrand or not. It's unnecessary man. It's a simple conversation and you're turning it into a battlefield of words. No need. Ultimately, MJ will decide whether he wants to or not and we have no say in it either way... There's not point in spewing venom over it.

"a simple conversation"

i saw your pathetic post on charlotte observer with a link to the petition, so no, its not a simple conversation.

people are coming into my team's forums, talking poo about my team and sucking off another city's team so you can expect only "true fans" would be insulted by that

so stop insulting true fans with this rebrand nonsense. its gay.

if you want to go pull for the hornets, then man up and go pull for the hornets.

Did I ask for a rebrand or say "fug jerry richardson he never did nothing for the Panthers" in that post? Didnt think so. Am I asking the Panthers to "improve" and become the Saints? As a Charlottean do I sit up here and tell Raleigh what it should and shouldnt do with the Hurricanes? Am I asking them to rebrand so they can win over blacks who casually watch hockey. No Im not. Diddy you ride with the Hornets, Im a Bobcat fan. Theres a difference

What was different in that post on The Observer and the one I posted here? I thought it was a worthwhile idea to discuss and posted it there. Who gives a sh*t.

How do you function in the world if you really see everything as that black and white. It's f*cking elementary man. We have a team in Charlotte. That is the team I support. Always will. No matter if they're the Bobcats, Hornets, Dildos, IDGAF... They'll still have Charlotte or Carolina in the title, and they'll still play here and that's why I am a fan.

Go check out the ROF and BP forums... See how many "true fans" have a problem with rebranding. You guys are acting like girls, damn...

And again, for those with 2nd grade level reading comprehension that may have not caught it the first 1,057,395 times I've typed it... There is a difference between the Charlotte Hornets brand and the New Orleans Hornets brand. The New Orleans Hornets disgust me. I hate them. I loathe them. I had actually hoped they would fold within a few years after they got there and I didn't give a sh*t about the name.

I hate George Shinn. I get pissed everytime I see his name in the Observer in some stupid "good old days" piece by Bonnell or how he is doing now... IDGAF about how he's doing. PSC, you said you were bitter about the Hornets... Well, you have no idea man.

I guess we just look at it in different ways. I feel like Shinn stole the Hornets from us and it belonged to us. It shouldn't have left. Just like Seattle made sure the Thunder couldn't take the Sonics name/brand. Is Gary Payton's jersey hanging up in OKC? F*ck no. And it won't. So why should Bobby Phills jersey be hanging up in New Orleans. It shouldn't.

Things went bad here because Shinn was an idiot and I'll forever be bitter about that. But, when we got the Bobcats my full support went behind them. The New Orleans version of the Hornets is an enemy, just as all other NBA teams are that aren't playing in Charlotte. If it becomes available, and MJ finds it feasible, I just want our name and tradition back where it belongs.

Were Bullets fans who supported a rebrand traitors? This is mindless, brain numbing bullsh*t man.

If I wasn't a true fan, I'd be off on a Lakers forum somewhere pulling for a team with a tradition of winning instead of torturing myself as a fan of a team that hasn't gotten there crap together in 8 years. But, I am loyal to my hometeams and that won't change.

You see the name change as a different team, whereas I don't. The Charlotte/Carolina name is what matters. The owner wouldn't change. The players wouldn't change. The arena wouldn't change. It would be the same team.

Would you like to tell Muggsy Bogues what an idiot he is for wanting the rebrand? He worked for Bob Johnson.

Damn guys, it's not that serious.

You could've just said "tl;dr."

There is no reasoning with you KT. I don't understand the hate man. You just continue to prove my point I made with the post quoting your old arguments.

"We don't need fairweather fans" Yet, you have proven time and time again that you are one. You cry like a baby when things don't go your way and insult the very owner who gave you a team to pull for.

Yet, when someone does it with the Bobcats, you get to write them off as a traitor. You know I've been here since day one so you're just talking to other people when you address me now. If you aren't a politician, you should run for office. Nothing but lies and hidden agendas.

You have repeatedly peppered this board with insults towards Richardson and how he is nothing but a "biscuit entrepreneur" how he hated blacks so much that he would only ever look at white QBs, how he doesn't put out a winning product, yet you're here through thick or thin... You may be, but you show no loyalty and cry like a baby about each and everything. LOL, and you still insult him. You don't have to ask for a rebrand. And you have insinuated what little JR did for our team and our state, and so on... So keep putting up that front and insulting us fans who would pull for this team even if we would've made Stefan Lefors a starter.

And there you go with that "Charlotte vs. The World" sh*t. Guess what? Last time I checked, Raleigh was the state capitol. It's where laws are made. It's a pretty important place in our state. So is Charlotte. But, when Charlotte got left to its own devices, the fairweather fans showed their ass and lost us a basketball team. So, I should trust you to take care of this one? LOL. Your arguments defy logic. There is none. Charlotte is not a f*cking airtight bubble separate from the rest of the world contrary to your own belief. You are under the same geographical borders that encompass Raleigh. Therefore, you are part of MY state. The Bobcats are MY team.

You talk about Charlotte and the Carolinas being fairweather fans, revisionists, and nostalgists, yet anyone who knows how to use the search function can see how you represent everyone of those characteristics.

If you want to continue with this charade then I'll just remind you next time you want to discuss the Panthers that you have no right, us real Panther fans are beneath you, and some other team with a non-biscuit making owner who is anti-white QB is waiting for your support.

Have fun with your strawman, I look forward to the next inconsistent post molding your argument to fit your evolving definitions.

Did I mention re branding or scrapping the Panthers logo in that post? Didnt think so. Diddys gonna have to try harder to paint me the quitter and self defeatist he seems to be. Giving up is easy for some.

So the revised true blue fan rules for the Bobcats, Panthers and any other team you might want to discuss as of this moment on this forum apparently are:

As long as you don't mention an idea (re branding) that might actually increase the national visibility, local interest, attendance figures, revenue generation, long term viability of the franchise and happen to live within a limited driving distance only known to KT, you can say or do whatever you want and still be a REAL fan.

Good to know!

Diddy I only wish you had this much passion for the Bobcats team and culture as you did for rebrands. Don't hate me cause I don't give up so easily. I don't tap out when the going gets rough or good. No one said don't critique the team or that the Bobcats are infalliable. This is a message board. But your obsession with the Hornets and how the Bobcats should morph into a watered down version of them is well noted. As if being the Hornets is some sort of prize or end to a rainbow. LOL. Like that makes you special or worth something. Diddy c'mon man, raise your standards. The Hornets? Damaged goods. And damaged fanbase. They have no home. Now they're sleeping on the Bobcats couch begging for everything.

PanthAZ how does being the Hornets increase national visibility? The Hornets are not a nationally visible team. They don't have tons of games show on national broadcasts. They don't sell jerseys. And they don't retain their best players. Their biggest stars are more known for and had more success with the other teams they played for then their tenure as Hornets. So how is being the Hornets make you a cashcow nationally? And why isn't that working for New Orleans?

The funny thing is, I AM arguing with passion FOR the Bobcats. Not against them.

We have to agree to disagree on this issue. Like I've said, a rebrand doesn't change the team or where it plays or whom it is comprised of. It's giving it a fresh start with all of those things still in place.

And again, the whole crux of much of this debate that keeps getting misinterpreted and ignored... The Charlotte Hornets are a completely different brand and organization than the New Orleans Hornets. George Shinn would have you believe they are one in the same, but they aren't.

Part of the reason New Orleans isn't popular, their attendance sucks, and their appeal is limited is because they suffer from the same disconnect that is present in our fanbase. If the Hornets are in Charlotte, there is a different appeal to that name and brand than there is in New Orleans where the name, identity, and brand have no meaning and value to that market.

Out of all the teams in the league, how often do people make the mistake of calling the Lakers the Minneapolis Lakers? Or how often do you hear play-by-play guys misspeak and call the Thunder the Oklahoma City Sonics? The Jazz the New Orleans Jazz? The Kings, the Kansas City Kings? They don't. But how often do you hear us called the Charlotte Hornets still? Or even when they speak about New Orleans they accidentally call them the Charlotte Hornets.

It's because both teams have a weak brand where they currently sit. Charlotte and Hornets will forever be linked, whether we like it or not. It used to piss me off. I can't explain it, but as I said, I had actually hoped their franchise would bankrupt a couple of years ago and the name would just become extinct so I wouldn't have to hear it anymore and we could all just move on. But, it's like the more time that has gone by and the more that franchise has looked like a joke and everyone saw what an idiot Shinn was, and once he had to sell the team, I started warming up to the idea that the name could eventually come back here.

I understand being bitter about their departure and wanting to forget all about them, but a huge part of why I think change is a positive option to look at is because it is clear to anyone with an open mind and open eyes that our team suffers from poor marketability, poor appeal, and a sense of irreverence when it comes to the fanbase.

It's clear that some have decided that the Hornets died once they left and I understand that... But instead of looking at it that way, I look at it as though they committed a crime, did their bid, and if they rebrand and leave the name up for grabs, they get to come home and make a life for themselves.

And still, I don't see the need for insults and pissing matches when none of it is up to us anyway. If we remain the Bobcats, I'm still here supporting them just the same. But, again, if the Hornets become available or if our front office finds that a rebrand to a different name altogether is in our best interest, then as fans, we have to support it.
