Hurney And Company Open-Minded Regarding Draft

top dawg

Recommended Posts

Well, some of you guys are always whining about Joe Person's timeliness, here is an article about Hurney's thinking when it comes to filling needs of the team. The last paragraph basically sums it up:

“I think we’re going into the draft like we did free agency. We didn’t go in with any agendas. We just sort of monitored the free-agent market and came up with what we thought were good football players that could help improve our team. I think that’s the same approach we’ll take in the draft.”

Other tidbits (that many of us already knew):

1. Shockey probably will NOT be here according to his infamous agent.

2. The Panthers are concentrating on value due to cap space

3. They are most likely to trade down than up

4. Free agency has been focused on versatile players who have been special teams stand-outs.

By default, our FO has become smart again.

Hurney And Company Open-Minded Regarding Draft

(Translation: We are willing to trade down, people).

Concerning possible trading partners: Watch Philly. With Peters going down and expectations high in Philly, they could deal for Reiff. Carolina (#9) is about where they would target a trade up.

Philly has 2 second rounders, probably would offer #51 as part of a deal.

I would like that.

Ey man, that's good info. Thanks. I wouldn't have read any more of that "signed players" and would have never came across this. Screw thread police

Hey, man. Give a brotha some slack! I had been up all night. There is a slightly different focus and take between this thread and the other. But, you got me.

I had seen the info about the injury, but just couldn't see how it could relate to the Panthers. Thanks for making the connection (which really could be a good thing).
