Article On Additions, Resigns, And Unsigned Players.

•They addressed a special teams unit that was among the worst in the league in 2011.

• They added offensive line depth by re-signing Geoff Hangartner and acquiring Bruce Campbell and Mike Pollak, who could take over the left guard spot vacated by the release of Travelle Wharton.

• They brought another weapon to the Cam Newton-led offense with the signing of versatile back Mike Tolbert.

Though the defensive players the Panthers acquired were more complementary players, team officials hope the return of several injured starters – linebackers Jon Beason and Thomas Davis and defensive tackle Ron Edwards – will add teeth to a defense that finished 28th in Ron Rivera’s first season.

The Panthers also will look to the draft for defensive help. Most of the players they appear to be eyeing for their first-round pick are defenders.

this is interesting:

The Panthers will continue to look for other value signings. They remain in talks with tight end Jeremy Shockey, although Drew Rosenhaus, his agent, said last week he thinks Shockey will end up elsewhere.

probably agent-speak, but still.

"People.. We have an OC who will create ways to get the FB involved. I really don't think hes coming in here as Stewart's replacement. Tolbert will be asked to do a bunch of crazy things with all of these formations Chud has.It simply expands the offense from what it already is. We could only do so much with Brockel.

Does anyone see where Im coming from? " Bingo I hit the spot. Some of yall were being tards

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
