With A Deep Draft Of Def. Players, Panthers Can Get....

OP mentioned Danny Trevathan. Mark my words, he will be an absolute beast. I guarantee you he is one of the best linebackers in this years class. People just don't realize it yet.

He was a tackling machine at Kentucky, maybe a little undersized but he gets after it.

Most scouting services I've seen rate him at 7th-FA material. I saw one that said 6-7. Saw none that said 5th or earlier.

I would love to have Danny, as a 7th round pick. Dude was consistently ranked in the top 10 in tackles and in the top 10 in turnovers forced in the NCAA this past year. With that said I would still like to draft another LB higher than the 7th.

Also people that keep talking about giving Cam more weapons just need to chill the crap out. He has plenty of weapons, how about we focus on actual problems here like our defense.

Our D was bad last year but we almost tied or won just about every game. How many times were we driving late and Nene or whomever let us down. If we had finished late drives we would have been 8-8 or 9-7.

The league is geared towards offense. If you have a chance to get an elite offensive guy why not? You can patch your D together and win. Everyone acts like our D was full strength last year and gave up 485pts. We had so many starters injured we were starting guys that didn't get drafted.

So the fact that out of the last 4 teams standing january only 1 team had a top 5 offense. Doesn't make you think a littlebit that you might be wrong?

Also we did have a top 5 scoreing offense with no offseason, a rookie, and learning a new sytem. So we are already close to elite without adding another wr.

We have a better chance at getting elite by having a defense that can give us stops, turn overs, and short fields. Maybe if we don't have to drive 80 yards to score all the time. Our offense will be better.

You can also look at it another way. If you defense didn't suck we never would have been in those must score situations.

No denying our defense wasn't at full strength but they still need help even with Beason and Davis (who must certainly won't be 100%)

Do some of you not remeber we gave up a 200 yard rushing day to a guy who was on his couch the week before. Or the 21 points to the colts?

Maybe if the defense had done a avg. Job we would be in the playoffs.

Ah, memories. They sure aren't what they used to be.

We all know the D was... lacking last year. You do not need to resort to these tactics to show your dissappointment.

Offense wins games, and Defense wins Championships. Our O won 6 games last year. If our D can throw in their fair share. We should sniff the playoffs.
