Stewart + 9Th Pick = Wo Blackmon

Lafell didn't look that much more impressive than Gettis their rookie seasons. The both looked just as good. Some coul even argue Gettis looked better. But one really didn't look that much better than the other.

Gettis had the big plays.

LaFell showed a more all around package. But he should of done that.

I fixed the error in the name, but my point was clear.

We need to play "offense" in the draft and not "hope" a premier prospect would drop to us at #9.

If we stay at # 9, we are going to take either Poe or Coples, and they are not going to advance our frontline pressure as we think.

The only DT that would advance our team would be Brockers from LSU, but we should trade down to pick him up in the twenties.

You are painfully stupid.

that is all.

Why have you put this kid on a pedstal? He's a 6'0 4.4 wr there will be another 1 of these guys next year.

6'0 wide receiver who was the best wide receiver in college football the past 2 years, carried his team to a bowl championship and also shredded nfl caliber DBs while doing it too. I think he deserved that "pedestal".

Sounds like micheal crabtree 2 years ago. 1 thing you said I agree best in college. Doesn't mean he will have the same success in the pro. How many top cb did he face in college the big 12 isn't none for great secondary play nor defense. Like I said before this isn't a megtron , fitz, or aj green. No expert is saying this is the kind of prospect thait changes your team from day 1. He is just the shinny cookie this year that has you going gaga. I bet my house there will be a blackmon next year that you will flip over. sh

Smitty does not groom WRs, he expects them to put in the work. Big difference. Some players react badly to that, and it can make some better. Blackmon is not worth trading up for in my opinion. I think he'll be good but not Megatron good. I'd rather have Stewy and whoever at #9 unless we go all out and get someone else...

Now trade up to Kalil? That is a much better question.

Bad idea to ignore a lagging defense. High picks will be used in franchise defensive players we can build the team around.

I'm ok with using a high draft pick next year on a WR if neither lafell nor gettis look like number ones this year.

Glad my first post had a good response and provoked some thoughts.

The young wide receivers we have are a good bunch and Smitty definitely has a few great years left.

My thoughts of Blackmon on the team would just make us so playoff ready for years to come.

WO Floyd from ND is another option that does not require a trade-up, but his off-the-field issues raise alot of red flags.
