Well, this is day 1 and half of day 2, but beyond that I REALLY hope we don't spend our #9 overall on a backup MLB. Even if you are one of the ones that believes Kuechly can play WLB too and want to draft him as a backup WLB with a greater chance at seeing the field than as a backup MLB, you can get much better value at LB in the 2nd and beyond than in the 1st. I'd much rather take a position of bigger need (DL, CB, WR if Blackmon falls) than spending a top 10 pick on a LB.

And I don't think we'd get an early 2nd round pick for Stewart, not sure if I'd even want one if it was offered. It'd be tempting though.

Technically, like JawnyBlaze stated, the first day is Thursday and is only the first round.

Not too high on Kuechly but trading back and picking up another 2nd rounder is always good when you are trying to gather talent.

Sorry about the first day mix up. But, I think a lot of teams who don't draft Kuechly will wish they had. The kid is something special

Special or not he is a linebacker. I am racking my brain trying to think of a 4-3 linebacker selected in the top 10. I mean Aaron Curry but he is not exactly an example to bolster your argument. Sorry don't see the value.

LB's havnt gone early in the 1st due to the contracts that would normally be due. With a structured rookie wage scale, I believe you will start seeing WR's, RB's, LB,s maybe even TE's slipping into the 1st round.

Jim Johnson didnt even invest in a LB in the first round let alone if we take Luke we would have invested in 3 in 10 years.

How many DT's do you have going in the 1st round??

Most boards have Cox, Brockel, Poe, and Still all graded higher than Worthy. If you are correct, that means 5 DT's go in the 1st 25 picks?
