CRa please Give me a reason Lafell couldn't develop into a number 1 WR other then you opinion.

Well just to be clear, you can't give a reason other than your opinion why he would be able to.

Some players are drafted to be #1 WRs down the road......LaFell IMO was drafted to be a #2 reciever in the NFL. He was drafted with that in minf bc of what he brings to the table. That is important. But he is a possession WR.

It was in 2010 (lafell 1st season). 2nd season he played with a rookie QB with no offseason in a new offense. But agian what limits Lafell from being a #1 wr?

Because he is slow. He is getting separation now because Steve Smith is drawing a double team and beating it enough times to keep Lafell in single coverage. I think he can be a good number 2 but he is scaring no one as a number 1 receiver. Gettis has the speed but he was hurt last year and was raw to begin with. It is stupid to wait for Smith's wheels to fall off before finding another elite guy. Cam is going into his 2nd year not his 7th. He needs guys who can break big plays. For all the talk about the defense Nanee cost us at least 3 games early in the season by dropping touchdown passes in the endzone at the end of games. That would have put us at 9-7 and in the hunt. Look at what AJ Green did for Andy Dalton's(aka Chad Pennington 2.0). Now imagine if we had that kind of receiver with Smith for a couple years. In several of our early games(AZ,GB, Vikings) we were a clutch catch away from winning. Steve Smith is doubled in those situations so we need a guy who can make a f#$king play when it counts. I'm not saying don't address the defense. Just saying a game breaking receiver will help more than a reach at a defensive need.

Why are we the only top 5 offense going crazy over WR?

Well except maybe the Pat's but atleast all their WR are old.

Because Gettis is still a question mark, Lafell solid, but he will never be number 1 WR on this team, Steve Smith 33 and has a few years left in him. So overall if we have the chance to draft Blackmon at 9 if he drops that far. Grab him up. Blackmon would be hugh for this offense.

We had key injuries last year. If we can get a healthy Davis, Beason & Edwards, that would make a big difference. Add a healthy and competent Hogan, and that's an even bigger difference. Even after all that, we still would have round two and on to make a difference. People seem to forget how banged up we were last year. Beason all by himself can be a game changer, and IF Davis can play at his previously high level, he can make things happen as well.

So Hogan (who has done nothing) gets the nod from you but Lafell and Gettis can never be #1 wr? Really.? Then your counting on Davis Edwards and Beason not having a drop off or getting injured again. But Gettis doesn't get the same consideration?

And Larry Fitz is a speed burner?

Or this wasn't a big play or the 91 yard play against the bucs wasn't big enough for you.

That's just your opinion you have no Facts to back that up. The problem most you in here are no where near Nfl scout, college scout , or High school scout level to make this determination on Lafell. If lafell was a 1st round pick none of you would be so sure he couldn't be a #1 wr.

Marvin Harrison didn't run a sub 4.4 either. What alot people don't get around here is speed is good but running your routes correctly gets you seperation.

poo Drew Carter was fast how did that help him?

Reason why Lafell can be #1 wr.

1. Great Hands

2. He has improve his route running

3. 6'2 great size

4. Fight for the ball in the air (example GB catch on the side lines over 2 defenders)

5. Good Blocker on run plays.

6. Has some good wiggle and elusivness in the open field.

7. Great hands.

Now do you disagree with any of this? And where are your reason he can't be?

Cra that last part was stupid. "Some people are drafted to be #1 WR Down the road"

Really so if you don't draft a WR in the 1st he can never be a #1 wr?

What was Steve Smith (3rd round) drafted for?

Dude your better then this. Come up with a better argument please.
