Sorenson Wants Wr, Blackmon

top dawg

Recommended Posts

if blackmon falls to us some team will trade a crate full of draft picks to move up and nab him. assuming claiborne is still on the board we could still grab him, and then stock up on defensive talent with the picks we get.

i'm comfortable with the wide receivers we have on the roster this year.

We're not going to get up 14 pts if the defense can't stop any body.

I disagree i could see us playing ahead alot if we field a team with say. Stew, Will, Tolbert, Smith, Gettis, Lafell and a prominsing rookie like Micheal Floyd.

Brady won "superbowlS" with David Givens, Brown, and Branch. He didn't win with Moss.

Reggie Wayne had 76 rec. for 1,051 yards with 4td his 1st 2 seasons

Brandon Lafell has 74 rec. for 1,081 yards and 4td his 1st 2 seasons

One was playing with Manning and the other well you know.

What next??

Marvin Harrison had 252 receptions and 3246 yards during Wayne's first 2 seasons.....and that isn't a typo.

What has Gonzalez done again?

Look at my last post about Wayne Stats his 1st 2 years compared to Lafell.

Clarke a TE and we already Have a 1st round TE.

Can't hit on everything....point was Peyton had 1st round WRs to throw at. I just think Cam deserves ONE while here. Just one.

Look at Marvin Harrison's numbers in my other post. He was a video game those 2 years you are talking about.....Reggie was lucky to get those.

I honestly don't think Blackmon is worth a top 5, let alone a top 10. He'll probably be a solid WR in the NFL, but not a gamebreaker.

If he falls, let someone package some picks to us for the right to pick him. Would rather have more defense, or if we go offense, another great TE. We need one of those, not so much another WR right now.

You are trying to hard to find every excuse to say fug Brandon Lafell. Just say you don't like him because you really have no reason to keep this up. Harrison being the Main target for Manning (in a Passing Offense) still isn't a excuse for Wayne and Lafell having the same numbers. It's not like Lafell was the main target here. Hell he didn't even start until the last 5 or 6 games and still wasn't the main target.

I love LaFell. He has limitations. Wayne also was no Harrison.

And Marvin Harrison's comical numbers do explain Reggie's numbers though.

Only thing I am saying is we have Cam....let's not sit back his entire career looking for guys to develop. Lets take a shot on a guy who looks to have a higher ceiling out of the gate.

No they don't it was a passing offense. Lafell was the 4th target in a running offense. Him and Reggie have the same Numbers.

What Limitations? Other then he started his Career with Clausen, Moore, and St P in a Jeff Davidson Offense.

If he was a 1st round pick this wouldn't be a conversation.

What Marvin Harrison did in that window doesn't happen....it being a passing offense doesn't explain that away.

Carolina isn't a running offense. That is why we called more passing plays than running plays.

It was in 2010 (lafell 1st season). 2nd season he played with a rookie QB with no offseason in a new offense. But agian what limits Lafell from being a #1 wr?

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
