Jstew Will Not Be Traded To Da Giants Per Rivera

Usually rumors get swept under message board rugs with so little as a fart in the wind from media and coaches, but when coaches start talking about it (i.e. NO I'M NOT LEAVING THIS TEAM AFTER HE SEASON... he does), chances are there is some truth behind it. They're shopping him.

Yep, Giants just weren't in the ballpark.

A very smart poster said that he thinks we keep Stew this year and franchise him the next. Essentially keeping Double Trouble X 2 together for the next two seasons. Yogi, Snoop, Dwill and Super Cam are Panthers for awhile. I understand the trade rumors honest i wanted to move D-Will instead of resigning him. Now it's J-Stew. I agree with some folks that Stewart could yield us a 2nd or 3rd pick. I think that is low ball value for what he can accomplish. I see a huge market for teams that could use a man of Stewarts ability. Lets list them in no order.

1. Browns / 22nd pick / Janoris Jenkins or Stephen Gilmore

2. Colts / 34th pick / Jerel Worthy or Zach Brown

3. Bengals ./ 21st pick / Stephen Hill or Jonathon Martin

4. Broncos / 25th pick / Levonte David or Andre Branch

5. Packers / 28th pick / Stephen Gilmore or Coby Fleener

6. Dolphins / 72, 73rd and 103rd pick / Travis Lewis, Markelle Martin, Josh Chapman

then lets cross reference them with the pick they could pick up a quality number 1 RB from us. The possibilties are near endless.

Could easily address 4 needs before the first day of drafting is done. Sorry it makes sense. But i still think we hold on to him and make run at the NFC Championship. But if we were serious about moving him i would hope we could aquire another starter elsewere.

Stew is my favorite player on the team, I would be so pissed if we traded him.

Get rid of Deangelo and that contract, Stew is already the better RB, fits better with Cam and this offensive style, and he's 4 years younger, getting rid of him is just plain stupid.

I think I read on here that most of Deangelo's contract was in the first two years, so either cut him and eat the money or trade him for a 4th or 5th round pick after this season and resign Stew to a long term contract.

It would make absolutely no sense in trading Stew right now as opposed to this above.

Stew is not vauled at a first round pick. A third round pick yes. Last year in his contract, he's going to be asking for big money, Denver isn't that dumb to offer a 3rd rounder

IDT people realize how good Jonathan Stewart is. He averages 4.8 YPC for his career which is the same as Adrian Peterson and he has only been FULLY healthy off of that pre-draft achilles injury for a little more than a year. Last year was the first year he has been 100% and he averaged 5.4 yards per carry. He played in Oregon's offense where he caught a lot of balls so you know he has soft hands and he's 5'10 235.

Add all that to the fact that he only has 725 total carries compared to other backs like Adrian Peterson, MJD, Michael Turner who have 1500 carries. Compare him to Ray Rice who has close to 1000 carries in the same time span not including the average of 8 catches he makes per game. That number is probably closer to 1100-1150.

I bet if the Ravens offered Rice last year for a 1st round draft pick teams would have been ALL over it. Stewart is every bit as talented as Rice and with less mileage. The guy is worth AT LEAST a 2nd round pick if not multiple picks or a 1st round pick. He has probably 5 good years of carrying a franchise on his back whereas the Vikings and Ravens are going to resign their guys for huge contracts with less left in the tank.

while i completely agree with you here, its not how other teams see it and it doesn't equate to his value now. Trade values have always been questionable in the NFL...so I am not gonna be surprised if he goes for a 4th and a 6th, which makes no sense at all to me.

IMO, we should start offering our 4th round pick for a good, established young player.

Seems like it has a better chance than not of landing someone good. Better than whoever we picked last year in the 4th(Fua?? :o )

Hell, we shopped our 3rd last year and got Greg Olsen out of it...I'd say that is one HELL of a deal. Thats just me though...

The only reason why I see Denver would the move is becuase of Manning, I think it was a risk to get him, big risk big reward. Denver is trying to go a on a Superbowl run this year. Like Philly did last year...lol

I see Cleveland offering a second round too, if they go Tannehill at #4. Not due to the Win Now mentality, but because they need to address RB, CB, RT with starters.

Fua was actually the comp pick at the end of the third round. Hogan was our fourth rounder.

Wow where can I get a set of his pajamas too?

Anything less than a 2nd is just wasting our time. I'd imagine Stewart would be worth a compensatory pick in 2014 of at least a 4th rounder or maybe even a 3rd. It never hurts to have a healthy stable of RB's, especially if you have 2 top 10 rb's along with a pass catching pinball in Tolbert, so why risk a Dwill injury and be left short at the position?
