Sporting News Draft magazine has Brown as the best DE in the draft. They compare him to DeMarcus Ware. I like the trade.

O.K. listen for those freaking out (I DID AT FIRST TOO! I was like now I'll be waiting all over again NEXT YEAR!!!). I did some research and Mel Kiper projected him to go as early as #11 or #30...the Observer had him ranked #21 out of their top 100.

I thought we traded our second also but we still have that too!...so in essence we traded

A 1st rounder next year (which will hopefully be late)

for a potential #11 pick

and a fourth rounder this year...

I'll hold out judgment on the player himself, seeing I have never seen film of him. But getting a rush DE when we already have Johnson and Taylor I don't really understand. Also no Peppers trade has happened and I don't think it will. So we're crippled in cap, and have no first rounder next year once again.

At this point I doubt Peppers will be traded until after next season. I don't think Brown is going to be ready to start from day one this season anyways.

I think the plan now is to use a Peppers trade to get next year's number one back.
