Who Would Improve Our Pass Rush The Most?

lol yea a whole 2 years is sooo longggg. How many more years before we realise he is just average after already being in the league for so long!

Unfortunately you don't get that many years to prove your worth in the NFL. How long did Everette Brown get?? 2009-2010?

Both McClain and Fua better be hitting the weights and getting their stamina up. I think they both can be good back-ups or solid starters but they have a lot of work to do to get there.

Coples would not only help the pass rush but our run defense would improve as well. We need a defensive end that can set the edge. Hardy hasn't proven to be able to do that.

What exactly does Hardy have to do with Brown? Are you implying Hardy is a bust and complete waste of a roster spot? Are you saying that Hardy has proved only as much as Brown did in the same amount of time?

I'm not following. Surely, you should give this thought another whirl.

I don't think Fua or McClain were brought here to be eventual starters. Rather than solid starters, I think they're meant to be solid rotational players. Not something people like to hear, but who's a 6'2" starting DT?

After watching all of the defensive line prospects over the past 4 months, I think Vinny Curry is the best pass rusher in this draft. He is projected as a late 1st now, so we probably won't have a chance to get him in the 2nd round.

Realistically, I think Fletcher Cox would be our best choice for a 3-tech DT pass rusher at #9. I dont believe Poe will give us much in way of pass rush. Poe would help against the run, and Coples would help both run and pass rush. Between those 2 players, Coples easily.

I'm saying that he has 7 sacks in two years and is a liability in the run game. Guys who become great pass rushers tend to be more productive even earlier in theire careers. He has been below average for a rush DE to this point and even if he progresses he will become average

I'm sorry but this is an ignorant post.

Don't be sorry, I just don't yearn for a front line of short guys. Look at Norwood and Edwards guys that height have trouble in the NFL there may be success stories but it usually rings true. He's going to be battling guys who are stronger faster and have bigger frames and longer reaches.

He may flourish in the 3-4 as a DE but in the 4-3 I still have that question and history is the best answer

You're also comparing him to guys who are not at his skill level at all. Ingram is just a head above the rest of these guys. Our own Charles Johnson is 6'2, barely. I don't see why his height would hinder his performance as a pass rusher.

Dre Kirkpatrick because if your CB2 cant cover worth a poo it does not matter who you have on the line.

Now if we are talking strictly Dline here then I would take Brockers over anyone else. Dude is a freak and if he can put it all together will be hard to block.

I agree on both these points. I like Poe but, Brockers is a beast. Either way, I hope we take a DB at 9.
