Got A Chance To Talk To A Player On The D-Line About The Draft

I don't mind the idea of using our 1st pick on an Olineman as long as it is a tackle and he is the best player available. Decastro is a reach at 9, IMO. If we get Reiff then that would be OK since nobody can feel comfortable with Otah ever being a 16 game a season player for us. Like most, I would prefer some defensive help but if Reiff is the best available then I say pick him or trade back a bit.

I think (know) we'll take BPA... we took guys like Stewart and Kalil before we "needed" them simply because they were BPA's in our estimation.

With Stewart we went into that draft looking for a Stephen Davis type RB. I think most knew Carolina was looking at Mendenhall and Stewart and it was just a matter is which one they drafted. Fox's rushing attack had been weak up until that point....people argued Williams just benefited late in games from opposing defenses getting tired watching Foster flop around like a dead fish.

I would only want Reiff if he has the ability to play LT.... if so, it's a good move in my book...

I've known a number of NFL players over the years and the ONLY thing that they know/care about the draft is if someone is taken high at their position. It's a profession/business to them and losing their job can mean millions. They want to win, but they want to earn a living even more. They're always going to think that drafting a player at a position other than theirs is the best idea.
