Ask Not What The Huddle Can Do For You....

ask what YOU can do for The Huddle.

This topic is meant for those Huddlers who are interested in helping our community grow. If you are not interested or can't be bothered, no need to read further.

I recently put a lot of money and time into this new format. Its cleaner, faster, stronger, sexier, newtoner. It has a ton of enhancements that isnt necessarily seen by the average viewer.

I believe this season will be the breakout year for the huddle. With our added national attention, we need to be ready. We have had some big seaons in years past. We have had our name in Sports Illustrated. We have had national interviews. We are on local TV weekly during the season. But we are not done.

Here are a few things you can do to help The Huddle prosper:

1. Descriptive Thread Titles: Thread titles are the #1 thing you can do to help the huddle. Our SEO depends on it. If you are writing a thread about Cam, instead of "Interesting thought" as a title, try "Cam Newton thoughts". The more descriptive the better.

2. Descriptions of images: If you post a picture, a couple work descriptor underneath that picture would go a long way in google indexing it appropriately.

3. Facebook: The Huddle now can integrate with your facebook account. The options are in your User Control Panel. It won't reveal your identity on the huddle, but it is an easy way to "like" articles or topics. This greatly increases our new visitor traffic and improves our google love. The articles on the main page are usually very facebook safe and involve real discussion. Please "like" them if you want to help.

I may add to this as I think of things.

Thanks all.

serious question though, a person would have to log in to their facebook and integrate with the Huddle, correct? In other words, integration is not the default setting, right?

thanks,
