Think Asante Samuel, Says Some Guy On B-Report. Pure Speculation.

Well, what do you guys think about the possibility of trading for Samuel? I just got through reading this guy's take on the Bleacher Report, and he just may have a point:

Although that number could seem particularly discouraging to a team low on cap room like the Panthers, they could make the deal work by restructuring...Even if Samuel takes a pay cut over the next two seasons, the Panthers will still be in cap trouble...What could motivate the Panthers to complete this trade regardless of the risk against the cap is Samuel's playmaking ability and versatility...He could also be had for relatively little considering his high cap number and age. The popular feeling is that two early day three picks could get the deal done—a price the Panthers should be willing to pay.

Now, before we get into the Asante-sucks mode, which really isn't true when looking at the numbers, I don't think anyone can genuinely argue that he isn't markedly better than what we already have, Depending on what we want to do in the draft, this may give us an option to better explore other positions while giving us time to develop some youngsters,

Bleacher report is generally more reputable than the average Huddle thread that everyone clicks on and reads. Not sure how bashing that site got so in vogue.

I do agree asante would be a decent fit here. However I would much prefer to grab a young CB in this draft and groom him as the number two across from gamble.
