Cb Trumaine Johnson Visited W/ Panthers

Cause he is not second round worthy, that's why. He grades out as the 11th best cornerback in the draft behind...

1. Morris Claiborne

2. Dre Kirkpatrick

3. Stephen Gilmore

4. Janoris Jenkins

5. Alfonzo Dennard

6. Jayron Hosley

7. Josh Robinson

8. Jamell Flemming

9. Brandon Boykin (injured)

10. Dwight Bentley

THEN

11. Trumaine Johnson

Johnson is third round material, no need to reach for him with a second round pick that is essentially a late first round pick.

Not a huge fan of Johnson. Would rather have Gilmore.

I think Gilmore is going in the 1st round. Could even be the 2nd Cb off the board, that how good I think he is.

One thing I like about Johnson is his size. Having two big starting corners who both have good ball skills will be excellent.

All these supposed "experts" on tv say DT is out biggest need. I don't think that's true. With Edwards healthy and McClain and Fua coming into their 2nd season, we at the very least have bodies to plug at DT spot. There isn't a DT whose worthy of a top 10 pick this year. There's some very talented guys but all have questions about their game. A top 10 pick is a guy who can come in and start or at least contribute immediately.

There's a lot of pressure on Hurney to hit w/this pick. Good news; Hurney never misses in the 1st round.

Likes the visit, don't like him.

Why arn't we bringing in any top cbs prospects.

From what I seen from the visits, it will be DT in the first and CB in the 2nd. Almost guarantee that.

I agree. Disappointed we have not brought in Gilmore and Kirkpatrick. Hell even Claibourne there is a snowballs chance he slips. My strategry would be top CB then top DE/DT/OLB at the top of the second. What do i know? It's now too late though. Will not be surprised if Dre and Gilmore are in Carolina soon.

Totally agree. Glad to see that there's some people who think like me too

    • Nah I wanna see these NFL evaluators talking about his prospects at WR aren't good because I would LOVE to see thier explanations
    • You do realize that raw stats don't make someone a better or worse player, right? To begin with, the last time I checked, 1,319 is more yards than 1,258, so T-Mac had more yards (but I'll forgive you as a typo there and say you meant catches lol), but that's before even factoring in that Hunter did his in 13 games vs 12 for T-Mac because Arizona didn't make a bowl game. It's also completely ignoring the team around each player.  If you think Hunter having the 8th place finisher in the Heisman voting at QB isn't going to result in helping his top WRs stats, then you're sticking your head in the sand to purposefully not see it. Hunter's QB had 353 completions for 4,134 yards and 37 TDs vs T-Mac's QB who had 260 completions for 2,958 yards and 18 TDs. But sure, let's rank NFL prospects by their stats and say the guy with more catches and TDs is the better prospect.  So on that note, I now change my mind, T-Mac is no longer the best WR in the draft, it's Nick Nash who had 104 rec, 1,382 yards, and 16 TDs, all numbers better than Hunter's... because that's how this is done, right? As I've said before, if someone wants to like a player better than someone else that's totally fair, but come with real reasons, talk about their play, but to talk about things like stats as your reasoning, when you ignore the obvious and massive flaws in using those stats in that way, just makes you look dumb.
    • Nah you don't go out and put up the numbers he did without being able to run routes dude is a football junky so he works on his craft he isn’t THAT much more athletic than other players to just be able to go out and do whatever and succeed at that level
